An unexpected twist

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw sniffed a nearby bush with a scrunched nose. "Did I find anything?," She asked, turning to her friend, Bellpaw. The apprentice pawed at the shrub infront of her. "It smells like I did...but then again it might be a bad thing too..." The afternoon sun lit up the apprentice's black and white coat as she streached lazily in the sunlight. "More than likely a bad thing," She laughed, looking to the medicine cat apprentice.

Bellpaw padded over to Amberpaw to see what she had found. She knew she smelt something! "Amberpaw don't get too close!" she yelled to her friend. "They're deathberries!" she said looking at the plant. It didn't have any berries on it, they probaly had died from the frost.

Sighing the apprentice said "Common lets look for something else. Padding behind a tree she felt a stronger scent. "Uhhh... Amberpaw?" she said hopeing the black and white apprentice knew what it was. "I smell something nasty!" her nose twitched this was more of a stronger most recent scent.
((Its a badger... if thats ok.))

[thats ok...but we need to hold things off until Sapphirestar can come....and we need winterhazel and some other warriors to come and help Amberpaw....she can't hold every badger off XD]


Amberpaw's eyes grew wide as a deep growling came from the bush. "BELLPAW GET BACK!!," She yowled, getting into a defensive stance. Suddenly, a large badger smashed through the bush, it's teeth bared and paw raised. It lashed out at the medicine cat apprentice with a fluid swipe of it's paw. "Watch out!!!!" Amberpaw yelped, dashing forward at the badger with hateful eyes.

Confused Bellpaw looked blanklessly at the bush as it rustled the slitest bit. "Wha-" Then it hit her, litteraly, a massive paw had hit her in the head. As she got up she felt blood drip from her head. Pain throbbed at her head and she opened her eyes to see Amberpaw fighting a large badger. Bellpaw trembled. She should have practiced more in training. It seemed as if her friend could only hold off little longer under the massive weight of the badger. Looking up she saw the moon peek out. "AMBERPAW RUN!" she said and picked up some cobwebs that she had collected on the way here. "TO THE ISLAND!" she said and started to run off hoping with all her heart her friend was behind her.
((Had to get them to the gathering somehow...))

Amberpaw jumped off the badger and ran after her friend, her amber eyes wild with fear. They needed help, and fast.
