As the rain pelted down around her, Crystalpool slowly climbed up to the top of the Riverstone. Memories of Swiftstar ran through her mind. Clearing them, she yowled at the top of her lungs to summon her Clan.

Cherrysky padded through the camp entrance towards the riverstone. Her heart sank as she noticed Crystalpool on the Riverstone. It was her afterall... The spotted warrior thought, sitting down by the riverstone. She knew that hadn't been Swiftstar's call, even though she and Lunarpaw had been training down by the lake side.
She looked up at Crystalpool with eyes that were curious, yet tinted with fear and sadness. Please dont be about Swiftstar... She thought, looking up at the deputy. But somehow in her heart, she knew thats exactly what it was about.

From: Training
Lunarpaw followed Cherrysky form the training area into the camp. When he looked around to see where the yowl had came from, he noticed Crystalpool sitting up on the Riverstone. Why is she sitting up there? And where is Swiftstar? he thought, his mind racing.
When the black apprentice had finally gotten over to the Riverstone, he sat down next to Cherrysky. His ice-blue eyes flicked around, looking at the other cats, just ask shocked as he was. He finnaly settled down and looked at Crystalpool, waiting for her to speak.

Shakily, red-eyed, Crystalpool took in a breath. "C..Cats of RiverClan." she began. "It is my sad duty to inform you now that our brave leader, Swiftstar, is dead." Crystalpool mewed. She let a tear run down her cheek, and paused, before she carried on, to let the news sink in. [/sup][/color] |

Cherrysky dipped her head in sarrow, her green eyes brimming with tears. Its just like Speckledfeather said... The medicine cat had predicted that Swiftstar wasn't doing well...but the spotted warrior never thought that it would come down to this. She looked up at Crystalpool with tears on her cheeks, wanting to say something...but not knowing what to say.

Lionclaw had just appeared in time to find out what had happened. Swiftstar was dead? How could this be?! Lionclaw let a tear glide down his furry cheek. She was dead... his Leader was dead. Lionclaw looked up to Crystalpool and walked over to her and pressed his nose against her flank to try to sooth her. "Swiftstar hunts with StarClan tonight. I geuss you'll be traveling to Highstones tonight?" Lionclaw knew the answer, but he just couldn't beleive Swiftstar was acctually dead...
Silverfur;
Hearing the news of her Leader's death sent a few tears gliding down the silvery cheeks of Silverfur. Swiftstar, I'll be seeing you in my dreams from now on... she said in her head, hoping it would go up to StarClan and enter Swiftstar's ears. She went up to Crystalpool and stood beside her and Lionclaw. "Of course she's going to Highstones! Only I can escort her there. We need to leave, Crystalpool." Silverfur knew that Crystalpool needed to go to Highstones today and they needed to be there before moonhigh. "We need to go as soon as we can. It'll take awhile and we need to get ther tonight." Silverfur nugded Crystalpool softly. "We can greive later." Silverfur waited for Crystalpool to talk so they could get going.

Crystalpool stared down at her medicine cat, and her cats around her. "I will go to the Moonstone tonight. I shall take one warrior, for we need your skills here in camp." The new leader mewed. "Cherrysky, you are a loyal warrior. Can you accompany me to Moonstone tonight?" The silver leader stared into the eyes of her old friend. Infinite trust radiated through to her. It didn't seem right to leave her behind when she had always been there for the deputy.
"Before we go, there is one more ceremony to perform." Thorns of pain stabbed at her heart, but now she had to move on. "Cats of RiverClan. We are all deeply shattered by the news of Swiftstar's death. However, like the river, we must move on. The river flows with courage and strength, yet does not forget about it's losses. Now, we must be the river. Swiftstar hunts with StarClan now, and we shall never forget it. Now, it is time for me to appoint the new deputy." A sudden flash of the memories of Swiftstar saying these words in Crystalpool's ceremony fueled the fires of grief, but only for a moment. The sun shone on the leader's silver pelt, and gave her strength to lead her Clan. "I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice." Crystalpool looked down at Lionclaw once more. The muscular tom was filled with loyalty and strength, and he was just. "Lionclaw shall be the new deputy of RiverClan." she finished. "Now more so than ever, we need a strong deputy to help us through these tough times with the badger attacks and Swiftstar's death. Lionclaw is the perfect deputy." Her eyes sparkling, she smiled at her Clan, hoping her choice was a good one. |

Cherrysky nodded up at Crystalpool with gratitude. "Of coarse I will Crystalpool," She meowed, dipping her head to the deputy. A faint smile crossed her face as Crystalpool called out Lionclaw's name. "Congradulations Lionclaw," She meowed to the tom. The spotted warrior looked back up to Crystalpool once more with prepared eyes. "When shall we leave?," Cherrysky asked, getting to her paws.

Lionclaw's eyes grew a bit wide with some shock yet not any shock. He blinked once and nodded to Crystalpool. Then he looked to Cherrysky and nodded his thanks. "I will keep RiverClan safe while you venture to Highstones. May StarClan grant you safe travel." Lionclaw looked up to Crystalpool. He was the new Deputy with Crystalpool as Leader. RiverClan was still in good hands.
Silverfur;
Silverfur nodded and said, "I still think I should come, but I'm sure Cherrysky can keep you even more safe then me. Swiftstar chose an excellent Deputy and she'll be happy to see you be made Leader." Silverfur walked a little closer to the Riverstone. "I need to tell you a few things first though," she said in a hushed tone. She knew she still had to tell Crystalpool a few things before she left.

Crystalpool nodded at the cats below her. "Lionclaw, you are in charge of the camp." Nodding to Cherrysky, Crystalpool leapt off of the rock and padded out of the camp.

Cherrysky looked over to Lunarpaw and sighed. "We will continue the training session tomarrow," She meowed, getting to her paws. "Practice while I am gone." The spotted warrior looked up as the rain fell from the sky with sad, hollow eyes. Good-bye Swiftstar... She thought, hoping that somehow the leader could hear her. With a heavy heart, Cherrysky nodded to Lunarpaw before padding after Crystalpool towards the Moonpool.
