Fated Patrol

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky crept along the RiverClan territory, her spotted fur standing on end. A icey cold breeze buffed her pelt as she brought her pace to a silent stop. "Somethings not right... She murmured, her green eyes carefully scanning the area around her. The spotted warrior unsheathed her claws and turned her head around, looking for the rest of the patrol. "I don't like the vibe I'm getting..."

"You're right, Cherrysky." Crystalpool meowed. "I think I smell something like, a badger..." Her eyes grew wide. Shaking her head, she meowed, "That wouldn't happen. Let's just renew our scent markers and we could report this to Swiftstar."

Cherrysky nodded to Crystalpool and padded forward, her muscles still tense. This gives me the creeps... She thought, her green eyes wide with worry. The spotted warrior shook her fur and padded forward a little more confidently. Crystalpool was right, a badger attack was very unlikely; exspecially so close to leaf-bare. "Where should we start?," Cherrysky asked, padding over to the deputy.

Sunpaw raced after her fellow clan mates panting. "Wait for me!" she yelled and finally caught up. "I smell something." she said her ears perked up. She kept following Cherrysky and Winterhazel. "this is boring I'm gonna go fetch a mouse or something." she complained and padded to the side. Opening her mouth to inhale the scents she smelt it again. What was it? She had no idea. So she just kept padding on looking for a mouse.

Finally she spotted a little brown creature scurring around by a tree trunk. She stopped and went into a hunting crouch. Silently she crept closer and with one big leap she landed on it killing it quickly. She picked it up and padded back to the group. She put it down and asked "Should I bury it somewhere or do you want it?" she asked the warriors.

Suddenly, Cherrysky's heart froze as a horrid smell wafted around her. She quickly turned towards Sunpaw, her green eyes full of fear. "Get over here now!," She spat, unsheathing her claws. The spotted warrior backed into Crystalpool, her heartbeat racing. "I think we were wronge," She mewed to the deputy. Cherrysky nodded towards the russling bushes behind Sunpaw, her paws frozen to the ground.

Sunpaw stopped in her tracks. She backed up to the larger warriors. "I am scared." she yelped. Sunpaws fairly good day was going to change and so was her mood. She started to let out a growl wich was fake. It was obvious tht she was scared but still had some feircness in her "Go- go away!" she yelled to the still moving bushes.

"Sunpaw I said get out of there now!," Cherrysky yowled, fear rising in her throat. The spotted warrior trust forward, baring her teeth towards the russling bushes. "Show yourself!," She growled, unsheathing her claws. Cherrysky's muscles tensed as she waited for the worst.

Suddenly, a giant paw swatted out from the bushes, heading right for Sunpaw. "Sunpaw! Look out!!," Cherrysky yowled, dashing towards the bushes.

Sunpaw rolled over not knowing what had hit her. Still confused she stood up quickly and ran not knowing where and still dizzy. "Cherrysky!" she cried. She started whining. Ow! Ow!" She just kept running around and finally stopped. Her vision cleared as she sat down and to her suprise she saw a badger infront of her. She jumped and fell backwards some blood trickling down her head from the attack. She stumbly stood up her claws still sheathed because she was stuck there scared.

Cherrysky let out a yowl of fury and jumped onto the badger's back, clawing at it's ears wildly. "Sunpaw! Go get Swiftstar," She yowled. The badger let out a loud growl and attemped to shake off Cherrysky. "Now!!!" Cherrysky yowled. The spotted warrior clung for life to the badger, her green eyes narrowed in determination.

Sunpaw sat there for a second just staring at Cherrysky. "But....." she continued no more but instead ran off to camp.

^{"NO BUTS!" Crystalpool yowled as she launched herself at another badger's eyes. Silver claws extended, she drove the badger back for a few precious moments, and dashed to help Cherrysky. A battle cry raced through the winds as she slid under the badger's belly and scored it again and again. Out of the corner of her eyes, the badger reappeared, intent on Crystalpool. Shooting out, she launched onto the back of the new badger. Teeth buried in the scruff, she dodged flailing paws. Leaping for Cherrysky, her badger whacked her in the stomach, sending the brave deputy to the ground.}

Cherrysky gave a small thanks to StarClan as she watched the apprentice run off in the direction of the camp. The spotted warrior turned back to the badger, her green eyes livid. Now I can focus on you![/b], She thought. She fiercly bit down on the badger, pulling back as hard as she could

The badger let out a howl of pain and gave one mighty shake. Cherrysky was flung off the badger onto the ground below, landing with a loud thud. The spotted warrior shook her head and staggered back to her paws, her teeth bared towards the badger. "I'm not done yet!," She hissed. Cherrysky froze as another large shape emerged from the bushes. She took a few steps back, her eyes mixed with fear and hate. "Not another one..."

^{Struggling to get to her feet, Crystalpool groaned. She swayed a bit, shook her head, and then launched herself at one of the badgers. Nimbly avoiding tooth and claw, she drew a line from the right forearm to the left ear as she spun up onto the badger's back. He buckled, and then let out a mighty roar.}

Cherrysky let out a triumphant yowl as she watched the one badger fall to the ground. "Great move Crystalpool!," She called, turning back to her own badger. Now its my turn... She thought, crouching low to the ground. She and the badger locked eyes for a split second before the spotted warrior launched herself at the badger, the heat of battle blazing in her eyes.

Cherrysky speed towards the badger with livid fury. She turned to one side and lashed her claws along the badger's face, feeling warm blood ooze from the newly made wound. The badger let out a howl of pain and swatted at the spotted warrior. Cherrysky saw the paw coming and dodged it with ease, scoring another blow to the badger's side. The spotted warrior dived around the badger as it lunged towards her, ranking her claws along it's belly. The badger let out a wail of pain and lashed out at Cherrysky, this time hitting the warrior right in the side.

Cherrysky let out a shocked yowl of pain as she was sent skidding into a tree. The spotted warrior looked up as a fresh scent of blood wafted around her. My side... She thought, still trying to recover from her lastest blow. Warm, sticky blood dripped from the gash in her side, making the warrior feel woozy. Cherrysky shook it off and slowly got back on her paws, her muscles straining to hold her weight.

^{"Cherrysky!" Crystalpool yowled, concerned. Aiming one last kick at the badgers head, she leapt off of it as he crashed to the ground. Reaching her friend's side, she stood infront of Cherrysky, hissing. She launched herself onto the badger, and ripped open it's ear. Roaring, he plucked Crystalpool from his head and threw her. Wailing, the cat was tossed, and then caught by the badger, who shook her left and right.
