Fated Patrol

[swiftstar]

Swiftstar could already smell the blood of her clanmates. Though her small, half-grown body was trembling, her eyes blazed with determination to defeat the badgers that were attacking Crystalpool and Cherrysky. She hoped Sunpaw and the others were close behind, with StarClan racing beside them. She stopped short when she saw the massive badgers with their beady, reflective eyes. In those eyes, she saw herself.

She looked no bigger than a kit. Give it up, Swiftpaw. You'll never be a warrior. She could hear her old apprentice classmates taunting. She bared her sharp teeth and let out a furious howl. "I'll show them all." Leaping forward, she tackled the head of the badger that swung Crystalpool from side to side. "Let go of my deputy!" she hissed into the badgers ear before swiping at it's eye.

It let out a blood-curdling wail and dropped Crystalpool to the ground and flung Swiftstar off. She landed hard on the ground.

^{A crack resounded across the clearing as the silver lynx hit the ground. A rib was cracked, and it blood bled out, but the deputy wasn't stopped. "SWIFTSTAR!" Crystalpool cried as her leader hit the ground near her. Stopping to examine her leader was a mistake. The deputy was batted aside like she was no more than a fly, breaking yet another rib. Fighting through the pain for her and her clanmates' lives, she leapt back onto the badger, and when it opened her mouth to bite at Swiftstar, she flipped down and scratched the tongue, breaking a couple of bones in her front right paw. Yowling in pain, she stumbled back, then stood in front of her fallen leader, defending her until the end.}

Sunpaw raced to the action. She immediatly stopped looking at the blood stained leaves and grass then turning her amber eyes twored the hurt cats. She backed up and curled her tail down tworeds her stomache. "No!" she screeched as the badger attacked her deputy and leader. With a baddle cry she leaped onto the badgers back her sharp but short claws unsheathed. "No one attacks my clanmates you pile of mouse-dung!" she clung to its back. It rolled over onto the ground almost crushing the apprentice. Sunpaw fell off its back and scambled to stand up but once she found her balance the retched beast smacked her with a paw and she slid across the floor landing in a bramble bush. The gash in her head opened again and she let out a wail. her legs wobbled as she stuggled to get up. Crawling out of the bramble bush she looked up. Staggering once again she padded halfway tworeds the badger and then ran up to it. She stuck out her paws and scratched at its already bloody face. It stuck up its head picking Sunpaw of the ground with its muzzle. The badger flung its face twords the tree behind it sending Sunpaw flying twords the tree. She hit the thick bark and slid down landing on the floor.

^{Coughing up blood, Crystalpool aimed one more kick at the badger's head, which sent the giant beast running. Limping on her broken paw, she looked around at her clanmates. "Is everyone okay? Crystalpool cried out, before she sagged to the ground, enveloped in pain.}

Sunpaw saw the badger on the floor and slowly got to her paws struggling to balance. She walked over to her deputy legs still trembling. "I am ok...." she said even though she wasn't. She was goign to be positive and proud that the patroil had killed not only 1 but 2 badgers. Her wounds stung and she scunched her eyes but then sighed and opened her eyes again. Yea i'm fine... For now.. she thought to herself.

Cherrysky watched as the badgers lumbered away, a faint hint of a smile etched across her pained face. She turned and slowly made her way to her leader and deputy, wincing at the pain that followed. "Except for the gash in my side," She replied, speaking as if the wound was nothing. The spotted warrior took one final look around the area before turning to Sunpaw. "We need to get them back to camp," She meowed. "Crystalpool exspecially."

Cherrysky motioned for the apprentice to come over, her eyes flickering at the amount of blood lost from the wound. "You need to carry Crystalpool," She instructed, moving over to the deputy. "It sounded as if something had snaped, so be careful when helping her. Plus, make sure not to bump into her. Understand?"

Sunpaw nodded and padded over to Crystalpool. Wow.. Poor Crystalpool.. Im lucky. Sunpaw thought as she looked at the injured cat. "What about Swiftstar?" she said raising her head and looking at Cherrysky.

"Swiftstar is bigger, so I will have to carry her," Cherrysky replied, bending down to examine the leader. I hate badgers... She thought, gentally hoisting the leader upon her back. "Follow me," She ordered, slowly padding towards the camp. "We need to get them to the medicine cat now. Make sure to take it slow." The spotted warrior took one last look around the area before dissapearing behind the bushes, trying to balence Swiftstar on her back.

Sunpaw nodded and put her deputy on her back. Her legs trembled and it was hard to balance but she was able to substain balance. Padding back to camp Sunpaw tripped a little but eventualy made it.

^{Crystalpool grunted heavily. Scrunching her eyes up in pain, she was still upset at having to be carried. I hope I'm not too heavy! She thought, then she nearly laughed. It's funny; I could be deathly injured here and I'm worried if I'm too heavy for a strong apprentice to carry me!}
