Claws of Fiery

[Lionclaw]

Lionclaw, the Deputy of RiverClan trotted through the section of forest his Clan had claimed their own. He looked back to Cherrysky and Sunpaw who had joined him on his patrol, or at least they were ordered to. Their new leader Crystalstar had told the three to go on a patrol. She had not long ago been Crystalpool, but had traveled to the Moonpool to receive her leader name and nine lives. Lionclaw sniffed the air, while stopping breifly on their way to the borders. He could smell something that seemed to be near, but the scent was masked by something and his nose couldn't catch the hidden scent. "Does anyone smell that?"

Sunpaw raced to catch up with Lionclaw. Catching up just in time to hear her deputy's words she opened her mouth and smelt somethign too. "Yuck! Then she realized something "It smells something like badger but disguiesed... I can't tell if it's fresh or not." the apprenticed meowed. Taking in another breath it was the same but a little stronger. "Definitley badger... and well something else I can't make out." she looked up at her lionlike deputy and asked "Should we see if we can follow it?"[/color]

[Cherrysky]

The hairs on Cherrysky's pelt raised as the scent of badger once again wafted in the air. Terror gripped at her throat as she padded forward to Lionclaw and Sunpaw. "It's defiantly badger..." She meowed, looking up at Lionclaw. "And its freash..." The warrior padded after the trail, fear gripping at every part of her body. But the loyalty to her clan pushed her forward to follow the scent. If the badgers were back, this time they would be gone for good....and Cherrysky would make sure of it. For Crystalstar's and Swiftstar's sake...[/b] She thought, narrowing her green eyes as the fear melted into grief and rage. Revenge was emanate.

[Lionclaw]

Lionclaw could just make out the scent. He felt the need to chase them down and sink his claws into their fur, but kept himself were he was. He looked down to Sunpaw, nodding his approval for the apprentice's sharp nose. He look back to Cherrysky who seemed to be barely holding herself back from the bagders as well. "Let's go see if we can find them. If there are too many we may have to go back to camp and tell Crystalstar right away," he said with confidence.

He wasn't sure how to handle the bagder problem exactly, but knew he had to at least know if they themselves could just chase them off. He didn't want to risk Sunpaw's or Cherrysky's life because he made the wrong descision. "Cherrysky, do you think Crystalstar would want us to see if we could chase them off or head back to camp?" he asked knowing Cherrysky was very good friends with Crystalstar, maybe even more then he was even with him Deputy.

OOC; So they go after the bagders and straight to the gathering all bloody like? xD

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky shook her head. "No," She meowed, more confidently than she thought she would. "We drove most of them off last time..." The warrior looked to Sunpaw and took in a deep breath. "I think we should be good with our numbers right now." She looked to Lionclaw with revengful eyes. "You tell me when to go and I'm gone," She vowed, her voice dripping with acid like hate.

[no we go to the gathering looking fine....but when we get back we go straight to the medicine cat's den...like we just got the inuries]

[Lionclaw]

Lionclaw looked to Cherrysky, eyes filled with admiration for her fighting spirit that flowed off of her fur and into them all. He looked back to were the scent was strongest and said, "Let's go." Then he sprinted off.

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky darted after the deputy with a new found sense of determination. As they weaved through the reeds the scent grew stronger, making the warrior's eye narrow. They're around her somewhere... She thought. Suddenly, her stomach lurched as a giant paw came tearing through the reeds towards Lionclaw. "LIONCLAW WATCH OUT!!," She yelped, dashing after the sorce of the paw.

[Lionclaw]

Lionclaw's attention snapped to hear Cherrysky. He looked to were the claws came from. He turned, but was too late. The claws swiped down his rear, on the left side, spewing scarlet droplets. He dashed to Sunpaw and Cherrysky, ignored the aching pain shooting through his left hind leg. He could only focus on the one bagder coming out at them. He thought quickly, something he was good at and yowled, "Scatter!" He knew if they scattered, they could hit it at all angles, confusing it on which cat to hit. He swerved around to the side, aiming for it's right hind leg, unsure of what the others were doing.

Sunpaw ran after the warriors hoping there wasn't another badger. They had killed Swiftstar and she would never forget that. Skidding to a stop she opened her mouth to warn Lionclaw but nothing came out, just the slightest squeak. She just stood there until her deputy told them to scatter and she ran off to the back of the badger to jump attack it.

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky followed the order and ran around to the side of the badger. She let out a furious yowl and lashed her forepaws out towards the badger's side. The badger let out a roar of pain as it was attacked by all sides. It shook it's head and turned with snapping jaws towards Cherrysky. The spotted warrior ducked as the jaws barely grazed the top of her head. She took advantage of the moment and went for the throat, clamping on with her teeth.

The badger let out a cry and gave one mighty shake. Cherrysky was dislodged and sent flying away from the others, skidding across the ground. The warrior clambered back to her paws, but not soon enough. Suddenly, a second badger tore through the reeds, landing a giant paw strike against the spotted warrior's side. Cherrysky let out a screech of pain as she was sent hurtling into a nearby boulder. Luckily, nothing felt broken. The only thing that really hurt was the gash in the warrior's shoulder. She stumbled back to her paws, wincing as the pain shot through her body.

Sunpaw let out a yowl as Cherrysky was hit by a second badger and pounced. Claws unsheathed she clung to the creatures back. It flung its head back and forth furiously snapping at the apprentice but she was just out of reach. Then it rolled onto its side and caught her paw. As it stood back up Sunpaw limped away as with her paw in the air before it saw her walking away. She hid behind a bush and gave her paw a few licks then ran back out to help Lionclaw, making sure not to put too much weight on her paw. She ran to the oppsite side of her deputy and bit its hind leg.

Lionclaw had attacked well, with only a few marks on him. Suddenly Cherrysky was attacked by a second bagder and before Lionclaw could help Sunpaw sprung. He started to run towards the second bagder when claws hit his ear, ripping the tip and sending scarlet drops to the ground. He turned with the speed of a lion and bared his glistening feline fangs.

Pouncing at the bagder's face he unsheathed his claws and let out a snarl of rage. He landed on the bagder's face, ripping his fangs into the bagder's ear and clawing one of it's eyes until blood ozed out. Lionclaw jumped back with a slight stumble, having received a new slash over the one he had received first. The Deputy lunged again, aiming at the bagder's jugular vein with his fangs and claws. He hit the mark exactly with his fangs and felt the vein snap in his jaws while hind claws from the furious creature ripped over his other wound right before it became still and fell to the ground. He had killed it with many blood marks over his pelt to show it.

Lionclaw limped over to the side of were Cherrysky and Sunpaw battled the other one and collasped with a grunt, hoping the bagder wouldn't come to him. His two worst wounds still oozed scarlet, but they weren't fatal and he knew that. He had a total of five large scratch marks, two of the five having been scratched over twice. He lay there, trying to get up and help the warrior and apprentice, but lay still, unsure if his right hind leg could handle it. He was breathing deeply and wincing in pain. The bagder had nearly killed him, but Lionclaw was a quick thinker and attacked the most important vein in the throat that kept the bagder living. Now he lay on the forest floor, pain shocking through his very core. He wasn't sure if he'd live or not, but was happy at killing the bagder that may have been the one that killed Swiftstar...

I had him kill one bagder if that's ok. I had a lotta muse for him and used it with his anger and quick thinking. He'll live though, but'll have some pretty nasty looking scars

The second badger let out a yowl of agony as it watched the other badger fall dead to the ground. Cherrysky's green eyes opened wide as she finally saw an opening. Now its payback... She thought, steadying herself. For Swiftstar, Crytalstar, and me.... Without a second thought, the spotted warrior ran at the badger with everything she had left in her.

The badger whipped its head around and let out a hateful snarl. The spotted warrior tensed and changed her direction of attack. As the badger lunged at her with snapping jaws, Cherrysky dodged to the left and bit down upon the badger's shoulder. It let out a growl and shook the cat off with ease, barely feeling anything from the attempt. The spotted warrior swayed to keep her balance and ran at the badger again, green eyes livid and teeth bared. She ran at the badger's side again, but the badger saw it coming and lashed out with a giant paw. The spotted warrior jumped back to avoid the attack, wincing as her side gave a sharp pang of protest.

Cherrysky shook it off and charged one last time at the badger, determined to do some damage this time or die trying. She lunged at the badger as it's snapping jaws can towards her again. The badger's teeth clamped down upon the warrior's ear and yanked upward, leaving a tear in the warrior's ear. She let out a yowl but ignored the pain the best she could. Cherrysky turned and jumped at the badger, tearing her claws down it's face. It let out a scream of pain as it's left eye was torn and lashed out at the warrior. Cherrysky ducked and retreated to a safe distance, feeling her strength draining past her limits. Try and see me now... She thought, knowing that after that attack, this badger was half-blind.

Sunpaw dug her teeth into the badgers back. It snapped at her, catching her tail. Sunpaw quickley let go and jumped off as blood swelled at the end of her tail. Lifting her lip up in a snarl she went to the back of the beast. She gripped its hind legs in her teeth as she felt salty blood coming out. Then she felt claws running down her side and she jumpe back sliding the claws across her. Blood came out from the oun and she tried to quickly lick it off.

Then Sunpaw realized her deputy wasn't fighting anymore and one badger was dead. "Lionclaw!" she rushed over to him and stumbled as she put too much weight on her injured paw. Getting her banance back she slowly padded the rest of the way and sat next to him examining his wounds. "We need a Medicine Cat." she said looking at Cherrysky though she knew the spotted warrior coulden't hear her as she battled. Getting up she let out a fiece growl and aimed for the badgers face. Charging she scratched down the blined side of the black and white animals face leaving an open cut on the badgers nose. It fought back and Sunpaw felt a pang of pain run to her wounded side as the badger dug its teeth into the golden apprentice. Having no strength to fight back Sunpaw felt it swing her back and forth finally throwing her. Hitting a bolder she heard a crunch and fell down uncauncious.

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky let out an angry hiss and ran at the badger on last time. She darted to it's blind side and lashed out at the badger's face again. It tossed it's head around as fresh blood ran down it's new wound. The badger turned to Cherrysky and let out a vicious snarl before retreating into the reeds. The spotted warrior stood there for a moment to make sure it was gone before running over to Sunpaw. "Sunpaw?!," She meowed, her green eyes filled with panic.

They need a medicine cat, She thought, looking over at Lionclaw. They're both uncauncious... Cherrysky turned tail and ran back to the camp, blood gushing out from the gashes in her side. It didn't matter right now...they needed Silverfur.
