The group of cats looked up at the sky, as the stars began to dissapear in the early morning light. One by one, the cats got to their paws and dashed back up towards the sky, slowly dissapearing as they went back to StarClan. Creampaw lingered for a moment with the last few cats, staring at Crystalstar. "Remember, I'll be watching," She meowed. The apprentice quickly padded back to Crystalstar to give her friend one last friendly lick over the ear. "See you soon!" With that Creampaw dashed after the other cats.

Dreamstar nodded to the new leader. "There was a prophecy that Swiftstar and Silverfur know that you must now bear as well," She meowed, her face suddenly loosing its relaxed state.

Duskfeather padded forward and stood beside Dreamstar. "Your trails and times of hardship are far from over," She meowed, her voice grave. "Claws still lurk in the forest. Where they are, even StarClan cannot see." The medicine cat looked deep into Crystalstar's grey eyes with a sudden urge of the dangers that still lurked ahead. "You will need to be prepared."

^{Crystalstar nodded, her throat still choked up too much to mew. "Very soon." she managed, watching her old friend leave. Her silver eyes tracked each cat up into the stars, watching their journey. As the last cat left, the new leader turned to Dreamstar, standing slightly taller than she did, now as a leader. She nodded, and watched the atmosphere change drastically. Turning to Duskfeather, she mewed, "When I came into the MoonPool, I did not expect my coming task to be easy. But I know now that StarClan walks beside me, and I have the strength to face and overcome anything that might hinder my Clan."}

Duskfeather nodded and stood, her blue eyes flashing ominously. Suddenly, a thick smoke began to form, to the point where the StarClan cats and Crystalstar could not even see each other. The smoke filled the air with a heavy scent of death and blood. All was still for a moment, as the scents thickened and covered the very last spaces of the Moonpool. "Claws shall tear through the forest," Duskfeather warned, her voice ebbing away. "River and Moor beware..." A blood curtling cry split through the air as the medicine cat stopped talking. "Aid shall come to those who need it..." She added, her voice faint.

<sup>The rank smell of blood and death washed into Crystalstar's nostrils. Horrified, the new leader's ears went straight back, fearful. Even through her fear, part of her struggled to commit the prophecy to memory. Her claws dug into the cloudy ground, and StarClan whirled around her. Dizzy... she was so dizzy...

Crystalstar woke up, ears flat and panting. At first, she couldn't tell where she was, but after looking around, she rose to her paws. Looking to Cherrysky, she flicked her ears to signify she was ready to go. As she left, she lay her tail on the warrior's nose, asking her silently not to talk until she reached the edge.

Somehow, Crystalstar had expected to feel different, but she didn't. She felt the burden of responsibility, and she was acutely aware of starry cats supporting her, but she was the same old Crystalpool, and she would have to remember that throughout her reign. Thank you" she prayed to the cats above, before nimbly, and much more quickly, leaping down the rocky ledge.</sup>

[Cherrysky]

Cherrysky held her tounge until they reached the edge of the Moonpool. She hesitated for a moment, sensing her friend's doubt and fear. "Are you ok, Crystalp--star," She asked, comming to a sudden stop. The warrior's ears drooped as she thought of what just happend and what may have changed. "Or am I not supposed to know...."

^{Crystalpool smiled, and reared up on her legs, batting at her old friend with her large paws, joy on her face. "I'm fine, Cherrysky. Thanks for your concern." she mewed, and coming back down on all four paws, she rubbed her head against her friend's. "Thank you for coming with me, this means a lot." she mewed, looking at Cherrysky.}

Cherrysky let out a playful growl and swatted at Crystalstar. "Just because your leader now, does't mean I won't fight back!," The warrior replied, giving the leader another swat. She jumped back and darted out of the Moonpool area, a childish smirk on her face. "Race you back to RiverClan!," She yowled over her shoulder.

<sup>Mewing in excitement, Crystalstar nodded. "Your on!" Her long, powerful legs carried her over the ground swiftly and smoothly. Watching her was like watching a silver silk ribbon, flowing across the land. The leader's ears were right back, and her face was frozen in an expression of pure joy in the thrill of the run.
