"Ah Cherrysky," the she-cat began, laying down. She wrapped her tail around the warrior's shoulders, and stared up at her. "Crystalpool came after you because she is your deputy. How do you think she could live with herself if she let you be harmed, or possibly killed?" Speckledfeather closed her eyes, trying to beat back the nausea building in her stomach. Cherrysky's heart twisted in pain but she agreed with the medicine cat none the less. "It still doesn't fix her paw," She meowed, a pang of sarrow running through her. "She'll be like that for the rest of her life. And I'll go on everyday knowing that I'm part of the reason she's like that..." The spotted warrior knew that she would have done the same if she was in Crystalpool's position, but that still didn't make what happend any better.

Cherrysky opened her mouth to protest, but gave a heavy sigh and nodded. "Your right," She admitted. The spotted warrior looked back to the deputy with hope brimming in her green eyes. "If she's ever going to get better, I have to believe in her." She turned back to Speckledfeather and smiled. "I know she's going to be better."

Sunpaw just sat down in the medicine cats den watching Crystalpool and listening to Cherrysky and Speckledfeather's conversation a little bit. After a while she just lied down and closed her eyes wanting to go to sleep and not. "Wake me up when it's time for my guard duty." she said softly.

Speckledfeather cringed. She lowered her head, and mewed, "Excuse me, Swiftstar. Sunpaw brought me to your Clan, in hopes that I would help you. Crystalpool assigned guard duty for the night - she wasn't sure if the badgers were completley gone. [/sup][/color] |

Cherrysky's heart froze as Swiftstar finally began to stir. She didn't know how the leader would act towards her decision of bringing another medicine cat to the clan. There was nothing else you could do! She argued with herself. But even if that may have been true, Swiftstar may not see it that way. The leader could think Cherrysky was giving off the message that the clan was weak...and that wouldn'd be acceptable at all.

Sunpaw stood up immediatly and looked at her mentor "I can! Im fine, not hurt at all!" she said to her leader with only a little respect. I just stood there terrified... she said to herself. She calmed down as Speckledfeather agreed with her and sat down. "If anyone you and Crystalpool should be resting." Im suprised you didn't lose a life." she added to herself but dared to say. Speckledfeather looked down at her paws. "I'm not sure. Until morning, I won't be able to look at it properly. But she will adapt, and thrive with three paws, so I can assure you that StarClan does not want you to demote her. Otherwise, she wouldn't be here now" she mewed wisely. Cherrysky let out a silent sigh of relief. She doesn't sound to mad... She thought, keeping her gaze focused on the camp. She finally gave up and turned around, knowing that she might as well face whatever is to come. The warrior looked over at Swiftstar, a little sad and embarassed. "Are you ok?," She asked quietly. She wasn't really sure what to say to her leader...exspecially under these circumstances...
