Patrol

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw darted forward, her black and white pelt glowing in the afternoon sunlight. She skidded to a hault by the oak tree, taking in a deep breath. "All clear so far," She called back to the patrol. The apprentice let out a small giggle of excitment and sat down, taking in her surroundings. Stale fox scent, fresh-kill...most likely mouse,..[/i] The apprentice began to list the things that came to mind as she waited for her mentor and the rest of the patrol to catch up.

[Sapphirestar]

Sapphirestar prowled soundlessly behind the unsuspecting apprentice, a wicked grin lifting the corners of her mouth. Amberpaw was deep in thought and thought that she was with the rest of the patrol, behind her... perfect time for a little battle training.
Suddenly, the flame-and-sapphire she-cat leaped onto her apprentice, yet not at full power, not to crush her.

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw yelped in shock as a force suddenly knocked her onto her back. Without stopping to find out who it was, the apprentice rolled onto her back and kicked feircly with her hind legs. She wriggled out from under the body and got to her paws, her amber eyes blaring and her claws unsheathed.

A small white and black stripped padded around the trees looking at the ground and not infront of her but still and barly able to tell if she would bump into a tree. A few plants were sticking out from both sides of her mouth most looking the same. Her white and ears perked up as she heard something just behind a bramble bush. Slowly walking up she popped out from the other side of the bush to find Amberpaw, Sapphirestar and Willowbreeze. The apprentice put down her medicine plants and looked up with a grin. "Hello Amberpaw Willowbreeze Sapphirestar." she purred. "A patrol I'm guessing, or a hunting party." Still smiling she looked at Sapphirestar and Amberpaw, the small apprentice looking shocked and ready to battle and her leaders fur all ruffled with a few leaves sticking to it.

[winterhazel]

WinterHazel remained far out of sight and watched her fellow clan members. She shook her head at the meaningless play and snorted. She held a serious expression and her eyes seemed to tell that she was depressed and they lacked the vibrant color they once had. The warm sun beated down on her silver and ivory pelt. The cozy feeling rose her spirits a bit more and she calmly laid down onto her side. She felt quite vulnerable in the position but she needed her rest. The other cats were not to far away and if danger was going they would know. WinterHazel felt her heavy eyelids flutter close and she drifted lightly off to sleep. She needed sleep to clear her mind that was full of disorganized thoughts and messy inner problems. Of course they only remained deep inside her head and she didn't dare speak them to anyone. WinterHazel continued to bask in the welcoming sunbeam. Noises from the others still rang in her ears but she tried to tune them out. She lay there silently and content but she wouldn't fall into a deep sleep, that wouldn't be a wise move. Finially she dragged her tried bones to her feet. A soft yawn escaped from her mouth as she padded back to camp.

TO:: Camp

[Flamestar]

Willowbreeze hurried after her leader. "Sorry Im late" she meowed. "I guessed I should come" she muttered.

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw sheathed her claws again as she heard a familiar voice. "Bellpaw!," She meowed, running over to greet her friend. The apprentice turned around and gave a small sigh. "It was Sapphirestar," She laughed, somewhat embarrassed about the scene she made. She looked over at Sapphirestar, her amber eyes humorous. "I thought I had actually been attacked!!"

[Sapphirestar]

Sapphirestar chuckled. "Of course you have been attacked! By a ferocious flame- and sapphire-colored she-cat, I might add! If you had seen the look in her eyes..."she pretended to shudder. "Not bad Amberpaw, but next time you should maybe stay on the ground a little longer to regain your wind and then bounce up to dislodge the cat" she commented. "Hello Bellpaw" the leader greeted the medicine cat apprentice. "Now Amberpaw, Willowbreeze, we need to get this patrol seriously on the move. Come" she signaled them to follow her and loped towards the WindClan/ThunderClan border.

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw nodded to Bellpaw and dashed off after her mentor. "See you later, Bellpaw!," She called over her shoulder. The apprentice soon caught up to Sapphirestar, her amber eyes joyful. "I scented a stale fox scent back there!," She meowed proudly, matching the leader's stride. "And someone had recently killed a mouse!"

Bellpaw nodded good-bye to her friend. "Be carefull!" she yelled after her friend as she walked away. Well I have enough herbs now... I better go back to see Moonclaw.. where ever he is. She picked up her herbs and padded back to camp.

To: Camp

[Sapphirestar]

"Well done Amberpaw!" Sapphirestar praised the apprentice. They went on in silence like that until they arrived to a stream. A strong WindClan scent wafted over the border. The ThunderClan scent markers were still strong. The patrol followed the stream until it met with the lake, and there it swerved to follow its rim to the ShadowClan border.

[Amberpaw]

A strong, musky scent wafted towards the apprentice, making Amberpaw's eyes water. "I'll never get used to that," She mewed, wrinkling her nose. The apprentice tried to focus on padding forward, pushing the pugnant smell to the back of her mind. She looked over at Sapphirestar, who barely seemed phased at all by the smell. "How can you stand that?!"

[Sapphirestar]

The corners of her mouth lifted very slightly into a smile. "At some point, you have to get used to it, or you'll never be able to go to a Gathering" she answered, a tip of amusement in her voice, and she trotted on, her beautiful sapphire eyes locked ahead. They lunged the lake's rim until they arrived to a stream. A strong stench wafted over the border, and the she-cat snorted. "The ShadowClan patrol hasn't passed yet" she commented, following the border at a quick but steady pace.

[Amberpaw]

The apptrentice looked up at Sapphirestar, a mixture of curiousity and disgust on her face. "They haven't?," She asked, her amber eyes darting back to the border line. Amberpaw stopped for a second to draw her paw over her nose, trying to forget the smell. She got to her paws and padded after Sapphirestar once more, her black and white fur looking somewhat dusty in thesunlight. "What are we going to do now??," She asked, curiousity and excitment rising in her throat.

"Whats bad about that" Willowbreeze asked following closely her leader, Sapphirestar. "the'll probably come later" she commented.
