The empty feeling that had been in her stomach for days had left, her clan had been well fed for once. Leafbare had taken a toll on ShadowClan, but they managed to scrape up a lot of prey in the past couple days.[/glow]

A lithe, dark figure bounded through the marsh undergrowth, a tail-length away yet head to head with his leader's shape. He loved the feel of his powerful muscles rippling under his pelt, his eyes sparkled with strength of thought and energy, his gaze sharp and aware. Too much attention had been drawn towards him lately: in only two moons, three warriors had died, all his mentors. Now, he needed to stay in the shadows, at least until he had a new mentor. The less attention, the better.

Twilightstar realized that Snakepaw was head to head with her, even though he was an apprentice. Impressed, she ran even faster, testing his abilities. She wondered why every warrior that had died was his mentor. Then a horrible thought raced through her mind, What if it's a sign from StarClan? Hopefully, it wasn't. She hoped StarClan would visit her in a dream sooner or later.

Twilightstar was excited for the gathering, she finally had a deputy! Thicketfeather was a wonderful cat and Twilightstar was glad to have Thicketfeather as her deputy. Snakepaw was fast for an apprentice. After making sure that the borders were secure, Twilightstar headed to camp.
