A stream of soft morning light stretched across the floor of the medicine cat's den, revealing a sleeping apprentice in the corner of the den. The black and white lump laid curled up in a bed of moss, resting after the hectic adventure the day before. The apprentice's amber eyes slowly opened and adjusted to the morning's light. She gave a giant yawn and stretched, taking care not to cause to much strain on her side. She looked around the den curiously, her eyes finally adjusted to the light. The dawn patrol must have been sent out a while ago, She thought, noticing the sun high in the sky. It wasn't quiet sun high, but still not late enough to be the afternoon.
"Bellpaw?," She called, looking around the den again. "You up yet?" The apprentice really hadn't gotten the change to talk to her friend yesterday....and if she did, the apprentice didn't remember much of it.

Bellpaw yawned outside of her den. It was morning still and beatiful. She had woken up just a while ago and was enjoying the morning. Her mentor had gone to collect herbs, hoping that new-leaf had brought more growth. Her blue eyes shimmered in the morning sun, "Bellpaw?" she heard "Are you up yet?" she walked back into the Medicine Cat Den and looked in the corner at her awoken friend "Yeah." she said her slight tiredness showing in her voice. "Do you need anything?"

Amberpaw shook her head lazily and rolled onto her back, looking up at Bellpaw. "Nothing really," She replied, stifling a yawn. "Just bored." The apprentice rolled her amber eyes and scoffed playfully. "I don't know how you can stand being cooped up in here all the time," She commented, rolling back onto her stomach carefuly. "I've only been in here for a day and I miss being outside. Running around, catching prey, and training!" The apprentice put her head down on her paws and let out a sigh. "When do you think I will be able to leave?," She asked, looking up at Bellpaw curiously.

Bellpaw let out a purr of amusment. "You get used to it." she said to her friend. "When do you think I will be able to leave?" she heard her say. She hadn't thought about that. "Well..." she didn't want her friend to leave! Then she would be alone, and what if the cut on her side got infected or started bleeding, she coulden't let that happen soon. "Maybe in a week or so, I need to make sure the cut on your side is well." she said kind of lieing. She new Amberpaw would be able to leave in a few days but she coulden't, not while Bellpaw was medicine cat apprentice.

"Awwww! A week!," Amberpaw whined, her tail flopping down onto the ground. "I thought you said I was healing up pretty well...." Her voice trailed off as she thought about what Bellpaw had just said....not only that, but the way she said it. The apprentice looked back up to her friend, her amber eyes saddened. "Are you saying that so I'll stay here with you?," She asked, her tone depressed yet reasonable. She scoffed slightly and shook her head. "You know I'll visit you everyday!"
Amberpaw paused again and sighed. "Ok, ok," She meowed quickly, thinking about what Bellpaw would say. "I know I haven't been around a lot lately." The apprentice stopped again, struggling to find the words. She was right though. The past week or so, she and the medicine cat apprentice had barely spent any time together. "But I was supposed to be made a warrior really soon and I wanted to get in as much training as possible before the ceremony." The black and white she-cat sighed, realizing how ignored and lonely Bellpaw must have felt all week. "I'm sorry," She apologized.

Bellpaw sighed. She knew Amberpaw would of caught it. "Dont be sorry! You have warrior things to do." she said and looked at the black and white apprentice. "Truthfully you might be able to leave in a few days, but two days after that you can go out of the den but not out of camp and I will check on you." she said. Bellpaw walked over to her stack of moss and took a little, rolling it into a ball. "Catch!" she said and she threw it to Amberpaw gently.

The black and white apprentice smiled faintly as the ball of moss rolled into her paws. Her mind was to busy thinking to really notice the moss ball. Bellpaw is really upset about this.. The thought kept picking at her. The apprentice let out a small sigh but kept her facial expressions level. It bothered Amberpaw that she wasn't able to see the medicine cat apprentice as much as she would like....but she never knew that it had bothered Bellpaw just as much. She had always figured that Bellpaw was busy with medicine cat things to really be bothered by it.
Then, Amberpaw's face curled into a joyful grin as an idea hit her. "Well," She started, looking back up at Bellpaw with a level expression. "If I can't leave camp for a couple days, I should just stay here anyways." The apprentice stretched slightly and hooked the moss ball in her claw. "It would save you the trip," She added, tossing the moss ball back to the medicine cat apprentice. And it would make both of us happier, She thought silently, feeling somewhat relieved and happy that she would be spending more time with Bellpaw.

Bellpaw hooked the moss ball as it came to her. Looking at Amberpaw she noticed that she was kind of serious. "Ok. But I want you to get some exersize." she said smiling at her friend. She was happy that they would spend more time together though she didn't want to distract her from her training. "You'll make a fine warrior." she purred as she gave the moss ball back to Amberpaw.

Amberpaw gave her a mischievous smile, tossing the moss ball back in the direction it came. "Do you mean now or later?," She mused, turning back to Bellpaw with curious, topaz eyes. The apprentice gave a half-hearted yawn and stretched her back legs, feeling the strain of not using them pulse through her body. I would like to get out of the den... She thought, her gaze shifting to the den's entrance. But the dull, yet sharp, pain in her back legs brought her back to reality. Best not push it to far.... She thought, letting out a reluctant sigh. "Maybe later," She replied, answering her own question before Bellpaw could. She looked back to her friend with a grateful smile. "You'll make a fine medicine cat," She commented, noticing how much Bellpaw seemed to know about her condition.

Bellpaw purred "I won't make you do what you can't." The medicine cat apprentice smiled at Amberpaw. "By the way if it hurts just tell me" she said, even though it seemed to be healing well. "Or if anything bothers you, be sure to tell me so I can take care of it." She said then hooked the moss ball again. "I should bring this to the elders later." she said "Since you can't" she joked. Putting the moss back in the pile she sighed. "Sorry I can't play anymore Amberpaw, I have to check the herb supply." she said smiling. "After I'll do what you want, ok?" she asked.

Amberpaw let out a small sigh and rolled her topaz eyes. "Alright," She replied, laying her head back down on her paws. She paused for a moment before looking back up at Bellpaw sheepishly. "Actually," She mewed, feeling some what embarrassed to be asking. "The scratches along my side really hurt. Is there anything you could get me? Or is it something I have to deal with for now?" The black and white apprentice gave her friend a half grin, feeling slightly awkward to be asking when Bellpaw had so much to do. It is her job to take care of me, She thought, trying to reassure herself that it wasn't that big of a problem for Bellpaw to take care of. Still, Amberpaw knew that Bellpaw had a lot of things to do today and it made her feel bad to keep the medicine cat apprentice from her work.

Bellpaw looked at Amberpaw. "They hurt?" she asked mainly to herself "No problem." she went into the herb supply and found some dried out poppy. She picked it up and shook a few seeds off. After wrapping them into a bundle she brought them out to Amberpaw. "Have some poppy seeds, they will soothe the pain until I get some dock later." she said normally.

Amberpaw smiled meakly and licked up the poppy seeds, greatfully. "Thank you," She replied, her topaz eyes gleaming. The apprentice chuckled slightly as she watched Bellpaw gte back to work. "Your really good at this," She commented, watching her friend glide across the den as she did her work.

Bellpaw smiled. "No problem." she said and then looked at Amberpaw amusingly "I don't know about good, but I try." she purred and started checking the herb supply again. "I need to get some dock we have none. And some tansy." she said and suppressed a sigh. "And if your wounds feel better maybe you could come too." she said and looked at Amberpaw. [[Gah. No muse.]]

Amberpaw's ears pricked as she looked up at Bellpaw. "Really?!," She replied, her topaz eyes wide in disbelief. Bellpaw was going to let her out of the den! No way! The apprentice's eyes narrowed suspiciously as she watched her friend. "Or are you just yanking on my tail?," The apprentice asked, her thoughts going into a jumble. It could be possible that Bellpaw was just waiting to say gotcha!....but then again, she could be serious. "You do know I'll slow you down tremendously," Amberpaw meowed, her topaz eyes becoming less suspicious. "You'll probably take twice as long as normal." Stupid badgers... The apprentice cursed silently. Why couldn't those flea bags have stayed on their own territory?
