Apprentice's Den;; Open

Stormpaw padded slowly from the clan's meeting to her spot in the very back of the den. What is wrong with Crystalstar? She thought to herself. Stormpaw thought about the red eyes and ungroomed fur that Crystalstar had had. It wasn't like her to yell at the clan she called her family. She had changed. From what Crystalstar had said about Cherrysky, it seemed to her like they had been very close friends. It just doesn't make any scence, Stormpaw thought while shaking her head. She sat down in the back of the den thinking about the new Crystalstar and how she had changed so much.

Shadepaw was laying down in his nest when his fellow apprentice Stormpaw entered the den. He watched as the silver tabby she-cat walked to her sleeping place in the back of the den. His cloudy blue eyes picked up traces that made it seem like Stormpaw was deep in thought. He stood up silently and padded over to where Stormpaw sat.

"Hello, Stormpaw," mewed Shadepaw greetingly. "What're you thinking about?" His voice was tinged with curiosity, even though he tried his hardest to hide it. His blue eyes grew a bit brighter and seemed to spark with the curiosity he contained within him.

Stormpaw turned when she heard Shadepaw's greeting. She hadn't noticed anyone else in the den when she entered. She smiled at Shadepaw and nodded meowing "Hello, Shadepaw." When Shadepaw asked what she was thinking about, she could hear curiosity behind his voice. She could tell he was trying to make it sound casual. "I'm mainly thinking of what happened to Crystalstar. She didn't seem like the same cat at all. And the way she talked about Cherrysky, it was kind of frightening. I'm just trying to figure out what happened." Stormpaw meowed honestly, shaking her head. She didn't know what was wrong with her leader, but she knew something was up. Something bad, and the whole clan could probably tell that she seemed like a different cat.

Shadepaw nodded at Stormpaw's answer. "She certainly didn't seem like herself.." he murmured in agreement. "Weren't Cherrysky and Crystalstar close? It doesn't seem right for Crystalstar to hate Cherrysky." His voice was trailing off as his thoughts swayed between wondering why Crystalstar had changed, and curiosity to find out why Cherrysky was driven out of RiverClan.

"I'm not sure, I thought they were. But it makes no scence for Crystalstar to want Cherrysky to die if they were so close." Stormpaw shook her head, trying to figure out what could posibly be going on in Crystalstar's mind. "All the new rules seem harsh, too. I wish we could hunt without having to go to Crystalstar to ask for permission." Or being able to eat without having to ask premission, Stormpaw added to herself.

Shadepaw snapped back to reality as Stormpaw spoke once more. "If we can't hunt without permission, then we can't eat either," he said, seeming to echo her thoughts. He sighed, his blue eyes becoming dull once more. "I hope whatever's going to happen, happens soon." He looked back up at the silver she-cat, a frown displayed upon his normally-happy face. "And lets hope it doesn't destroy our Clan." He stood, turned away from Stormpaw, and padded silently back to his nest, his head hung and tail dragging the ground.

"Yes, we can only hope it doesn't destroy our clan." Stormpaw meowed quietly as Shadepaw walked back to his nest. He looked sad, and that didn't seem right. He was usually so happy and cheerful. Theres nothing I can really do though, is there? She thought. If I knew how to cheer him up I would, but I don't so I can't. Stormpaw sat down in her nest starring again at the back of the den, wondering what was going to become of her leader, clan, and clan mates.

Shadepaw turned around in a few circles in his nest, getting comforatable. Once he had settled down, he turned his head to look at Stormpaw. She seemed so lonely with her nest at the back of the den. Yet.. She also seemed peaceful. She had remained calm during the meeting, even at Crystalstar's demonic state. He coughed once, trying to get Silverpaw's attention. "U-uh.. Stormpaw?" he stammered.

Stormpaw turned around when Shadepaw coughed and said her name. She smiled to herself then turned around. "Yes?" She meowed. She tried to hide the curiosity in her voice. I wonder what he's thinking of, Stormpaw thought. Guess I'll get to find out soon.

Stormpaw's tail twitched in embarressment. "Would you like to accompany me on a walk by the stream tonight?" he asked, his eyes' shading flickering between dull and bright. He felt the hairs on his neck bristle with embarressmant. "I-I'd understand if you don't wanna come.. Since we might get in trouble and all." His voice trailed off towards the end off his sentence.

He then looked at the silver she-cat. Her pelt seemed to shine in the faint sunlight that broke into the den, and her eyes seemed to sparkle. Butterflies seemed to flutter in his stomach as he continued to look at Stormpaw. What is this feeling? he thought, a little scared of what it could mean.

Stormpaw's eyes lighted up with surprise. Did he just ask me to sneak out with him to walk by the river? Stormpaw thought to herself. A tingling feeling went throughout her whole body when he said this. He looks so nervous, She thought. His eyes are shining like the stars in silverpelt, almost like he is glowing. She smiled warmly at him and meowed, "Of course, I'll join on a walk by the river tonight." Stormpaw had meowed this confidently, it seemed strange to her. She had never been very confident before, yet when she was talking to Shadepaw now, she felt very confident. I hope nothing is wrong with me, she thought to herself.

Shadepaw's eyes lit up happily. "Great! Meet my by the fresh-kill pile after the evening patrol leaves?" he asked. He noticed something; Stormpaw had been confident when she had answered his request. The thought of that made him feel warm inside. Maybe she was finally gaining some confidence. He certainly hoped so; Stormpaw had great potential, just little confidence. He smiled as he waited for Stormpaw's answer.

Stormpaw smiled and nodded quickly. "Defiantly! I'll see you there." A tingle went all the way through Stormpaw's spine to her paws. She was so excited. She couldn't wait for the evening patrol to leave. Stormpaw had never been so nervous or excited about anything in her life. Hope we don't get caught by any of the warriors or Crystalstar. If she did catch us, what would she do? Stormpaw thought about it a moment then shook her head, to clear it and smiled at Shadepaw.

Shadepaw purred at Stormpaw's answer. "See you then," he said happily as he rested his head on his paws. I can't wait till tonight! he thought excitedly. Then something flickered in his mind. What if we get caught? What would Crystalstar do when she found out? This sent a chill of fear down his spine, but he forced the feeling to pass. Don't worry about that right now. What happens, happens. But that thought just made him feel a bit worse than before, so he tried not to think about and fell asleep so he could have some rest for tonight.

Stormpaw smiled as Shadepaw layed down and went to her nest in the back of the den. She curled up and smiled thinking of the wonderful night ahead. Better rest up so I'm not tired tonight! She thought cheerfully. She cast one last glance at Shadepaw's sleeping form and closed her eyes with a smile on her face.
