Speckledfeather blinked. Then she looked down at her paws. "I've seen you looking at me before" she said timidly. "I've noticed that you have no mate by your side, but this can't work! I'm a medicine cat, you're a leader! I don't see how..." her voice trailed off, sad.

"I wouldn't know, I've never been in love" she mewed, ashamed. She was slightly uneasy; her leader had just said that he loved her, for sure she'd be astonished! She lay down, head on her paws, and sighed.

Flamestar looked at her and hated seeing her so distreesed well I better go to my den for a while. He limped over to the entrance and looked back at her. He turned his head in front of him and hoped shed stop him.

fFlamestar eyes widened as he listened to her owrds in shock. He shook jis head slightly. "You just said you were never in love though" he looked at her with confusion in his eyes and a hint of love.

Speckledfeather nodded. "Okay" she mewed. Her purring could be heard all the way at fourtrees it seemed, and she rubbed her head under Flamestar's chin, eyes closed in contentment, overjoyed at finally being able to display her affections for him.
