Ambertear looked around the Medicine den. The night had been long for her, and she started to wonder about the clan. She had always been there when her mentor died, but she always blamed herself for the death. She smiled quickly realizing the sun was at last up. It was a beautiful day so far and Ambertear wasn't letting her thoughts get the best of her. Her aurora-colored eyes glittered as she sat up, and streached luxoriously. She needed something to do, and she happened to wonder where everyone was. She hadn't had anyone in her den in a while, and she started to wonder what was wrong with them.
Generally her den was full of sick cats, or those who were injured badly. She padded gently out of her den and sat there, as she saw three kits playing moss-ball her favorite game when she was a kit. She looked around more taking in the fresh morning air, and didn't see a sign of her leader anywhere. She figured he must be asleep still, but everything seemed so peaceful. The birds were flying around the grassy moor as usual. The young she-cat enjoyed the outsides while she could, because she had always been stuck inside helping her clan. She loved the job, but sometimes it was overwhelming the amount of patients she had at a time.
Looking around once more she padded up to a cat and meowed "Hello, pleasant day we are having?"

[/i] The elderly tom thought with a wheezing cough. His amber eyes filled with a happy knowing glow when he recognized the medicine cat. He licked her shoulder in a small, but warm gesture of friendly respect and flicked his tail. The elder let out a small sneeze and licked his lips, smiling that famous and handsome crooked grin of his that used to win over every she-cat at a glance in his time. "Ambertear, my friend. How have you been?" The tom asked. Actually, his health was more important. Or it seemed that way, with everyone fussing over the condition of his matted white pelt or goopy eyes. Like he was a newborn kit! SnowCloud let out a sigh and blinked. "And to answer your question early," the tom meowed, his voice ragged, "I'm doing just fine. Though I do have this itch behind my shoulders. . . maybe a tick or flea. . ." he guessed half-heartedly. He really didn't care much anymore.[/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

The elderly tom was always her favorite patient. She smiled and meowed, "I will go grab some mouse bile, and start pulling out that tick behind your ear." She could sense some creakingness in his old bones, but it was mainly old age catching up to the elderly tom. She padded gently back into her den, and sorted through her herbs and found some mouse bile.
She grinned ear to ear. After all she was always having fun picking out ticks, and fleas out of pelts. She padded outside again to the tom and put some mouse bile on her paws. Gently she put it behind his ear, and pulled out the dead tick. She cringed at the smell of the mouse bile, but by this time she was used to it. She then meowed to the old tom, "There youre tick free now. I must go was my paws off in the water. I will be back."
She then looked around while no one was looking and dipped her paws in the small stream by the grassy moors. The mouse bile smelled so foul, but she couldn't help it. She then got the remainder of the bile off, and padded gently back into camp. She smiled at the elder and licked a part of his fur where it was sticking up, trying to make him look a little better. She meowed "So how are you doing my friend? I heard you don't like to groom yourself as much anymore." She tried to act positive, and make Snowstorm feel like it was okay to not groom his pelt at his age. After all he was getting older, but alot wiser.

[/b] He meowed, taking the subject lightly and with a little hiccup. He sighed and looked up at the sky. He knew that a day was coming when he would be sent to the stars. His life hadn't much meaning anymore, as it was. He had done terrible things in his past. . . murder of a Clanmate. . . a lover. . . but the old tom never looked back on those things. One of his famous quotes was "If you re-live the bad times, it will become a painful history lesson, and that's not very fun is it? So move on to today, because if you spend today thinking about yesterday, you'll forget your present ."[/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/size]
