Training Bladepaw

Bloodwind went across the moor, to meet Bladepaw here for some training. He was glad he finally got an apprentice, so he could teach someone everything he knew, and use it to there advantage.

He sat down and started to doze off, but he heard something. It was a mouse, but he wouldn't catch it, it would be too tempting to eat.

Bladepaw waved his tail, greeting Bloodwind. He opened his mouth, about to say something, when he smelled a mouse in the underbrush. He sat completely still, watching the mouse. He waited until it ventured but a hair-width away when, in one fast movement, swiped it off the ground. The mouse's squeak of fright was silenced by Bladepaw's mouth closing on it's throat in midair. He plopped it between his paws and covered it up.
"I call that one the Hunter Statue," he said as he scraped the last bit of dirt over the mouse. "Now," He meowed as he faced Bloodwind. "When do we start training?"

Bloodwind nodded to his apprentice, then watched his catch. Well, not the most efficient way to catch prey, but it works, he thought. "Well, nice catch. And training will start now," he explained as he sat up and walked over to Bladepaw. "Do you want to start hunting, or battle training?" he asked.

Bloodwind then remembered how he saw his apprentice catch the mouse. He will be a good hunter, but a good fighter? A cat can mostly be one in my opinion, not both. I'm worried that most of his skills and time will go towards hunting.

Bladepaw noticed a cloud of worry in his mentor's eyes.
"I think we should start battle training first. It's always seemed to be my strong point," Bladepaw said as he stalked around his mentor. When he came back around, he sat back down.
"Show me what you got," he said as he got low, tail lashing as if he were in a real fight.

[bloodwind]

"Alright then," Bloodwind said as he started to circle Bladepaw. He then pounced in his direction, hoping to flatten him.
