A calico tom padded through the marshy terrain, his emerald eyes curious yet bored. WindClan had become quiet uneventful since the badger attack. Everyone was on edge, warriors were snippy, just everything seemed so tense. The tom let out a grateful sigh that there was still places he could go to escape all of the chaos. It was early in the morning, the sun barely peeking over the mountains in the distance. Brackenpaw had got up early to take a walk. The main reason was because he couldn't sleep that well. The other reason was simply because he didn't like the tense air at camp.
The calico tom let out a sigh as he found a nice, smooth rock by the edge of the marsh. He swerved off his coarse and hopped up onto the rock, turning his head toward the mountains again. What was beyond those mountains? What was in them?....was there anything in them? His emerald eyes were broad with curiosity as he stared out at the mountain range. Someday...maybe, he would get to see them for himself. But for now, he was stuck in a chaotic clan...with edgy warriors and sleepless nights.

An orange RiverClan she-cat with sleek, shinning fur padded through the marsh. Her white paws seemed to get stuck in the mushy mix of grass, water, and mud. It didn't bother her, however, because she was used to water. Her head turned to glance around the environment; she spotted an apprentice not too far away. His scent told her that he was a WindClanner. She blinked her light green eyes, pondering whether or not to introduce herself. It might be slightly rude if she didn't. This was one of those unusual times that she got farther away from camp. She wasn't feeling too well and she wondered if she was coming up with some kind of cold or fever. She drew closer to the apprentice. Maybe she'd be friendly and just say 'hello.' Applesong was never a mean cat. She just tends to get annoyed easily which causes some bitterness toward others.

A squish in the marsh close by made the apprentice jump, jolting him from his daydreaming. He spun around toward the RiverClan boarder, his emerald eyes focusing on an orange she-cat not far from him. "I-I'm sorry," He stammered apologetically, ears growing hot with embarrassment. He must have looked so weird! Staring out into nothingness with this captivated look on his face. "I didn't realize anyone else was here." No one ever dreamed of the things he did: seeing new things, exploring the world. It made him feel weird at times...being the only one.
Brackenpaw realized the she-cat was still staring as his emerald eyes flickered back up. "I'm Brackenpaw," He introduced, trying to ease the uncomfortable silence. "I just came out here...well.." He really didn't have a reason to be here. The apprentice wondered for a moment if she was the type of cat to get angered easily. I hope not...

"I'm Applesong." The she-cat mewed softly. "Did you come out here to get out of camp...?" She questioned him with a small twinkle of amusement in her light green eyes. "I know I did. It can get quite noisy in camp... Sometimes I like to be alone." She added and glanced at her white paws which were wet and covered with grass. Being in camp did get on her nerves at times. She loved being around other cats but sometimes being alone just seemed to be better. She took her gaze away from her paws and glanced back up at the tom, wondering what the distant look in his emerald eyes were from.

Brackenpaw opened his mouth to answer, but was to speechless to say much of anything. So he simply nodded, his emerald eyes surprised that she felt the same as he did. "Are things tense in RiverClan to?," He asked, genuinely curious again. The apprentice regretted the question as soon as it was out. Would she be upset at the question? Some warriors would take his curiosity as him probing for a weakness. He bit his tongue as he thought about it, his eyes falling down to his paws. Shouldn't have asked that particular question...my curiosity got the best of me...again.

A light tabby padded across. She had scented Applesong and followed her stealthily. She knew it was apprentice like but she didn't count it like that, she counted it as Sunstream like. Hiding behind Applesong she just followed her by scent because she had been too far ahead to see. Finally she went out of hiding and bended down. Then she jumped out. Sunstream missed and rolled out in front of Applesong. She stood up then shook herself off. "Hi Applesong." she said then she smelt fresh WindClan! The RiverClan warrior jumped and turned around. Though she wasn't too alarmed. He was on his side. "Uhhh... Brackenpaw right?" she had recognized the apprentice from a gathering. [/sup]

Alarm shot through the tabby tom, but he nodded in responce to the she-cat's question. Sunpaw, wasn't it? But from the looks of how she held her posture, probably promoted to warrior. He didn't like the odds- they seemed stacked against him. There was no way he could fight off two warriors, exspecially after the badgers clawed his side. Brackenpaw thought about running- he could probably out run them. He could out run most of the apprentices and even some of the warriors, but that was before he was injured.
"So how's RiverClan?," He asked, rejecting the idea to test his running skills out. If Featherpaw or Speckledfeather knew he had been running with his injured side...Brackenpaw mentally shuddered. They would have him kept in the medicine cat's den for a moon! Or even longer...His emerald eyes flickered back to Sun-something, with a curious glint. "What's your warrior name now?," He asked, turning away the last question. She didn't seem like the type that liked to share clan information in a friendly way.
[bleh, no muse...]

Sunstream stood up proudly. "You noticed?" she asked. Most cats still mistaked her for an apprentice. "It's Sunstream." she said looking at him. He was scarred and well she was too. "You met the badgers didn't you?" she said to the tabby apprentice she remembered seeing his tabby pelt in the WindClan medicine cat den. As if not waiting tfor an answer she sat down and said, "I was too." she sighed. Horrible images flooded back. They had killed her mentor and leader and she had been seriously injured. She still had a small limp from her back leg.

Applesong's whiskers twitched as the two chatted. Apparently these two knew each other from somewhere. "Hi Sunstream." She mewed to the tabby then glanced around, wondering if anyone else had come. She didn't scent any other cat, however. She began to drift off into a world of daydream as her clanmate and the WindClanner talked. (I have no idea what to post. )

"Sunstream," He repeated, letting the name soak in. "Very unique." Brackenpaw nodded at her next question, mentally flinching from the memories. "I try not to think about it," He admitted, feeling his side prickle along the scar he had on his side. His near-death experience was not something he liked to be reminded about...it was uncomfortable. The tabby tom liked to dwell on happier thoughts- it's just how he is. Painful, unnecessary memories are easily pushed to the back of his mind. Brackenpaw's emerald gaze flickered back up to Sunstream with curiosity. "How about you?," He asked, noticing her back leg. Nothing ever escaped his emerald eyes. He noticed every little detail...which, at times, was very helpful.

[orange]"Recovering." she said. She was acctually pretty proud of her scars, they showed how she had survived. She looked up at her clanmate. "Have you seen Whitedawn lately?" she asked curiously. The warrior had something that just had caught Sunstream ever since she had became a warrior. [/orange]

Applesong shook her head slowly. "I'm haven't seen Whitedawn. Yet I haven't been in camp lately, either." She mewed with a sigh. It wasn't like her to be out of camp a lot. Maybe she had just felt like being alone lately. She wasn't being very social lately, apparently. She pondered whether or not to leave the two to just talk alone or not. She had no idea what they were talking about, plus it seemed as if they knew each other.

"I know what you mean," Brackenpaw muttered, his emerald gaze distant yet sympathetic. He paused for a moment and turned back up to the two she-cats. "Not that I'm saying that RiverClan is bad!," He countered hastily. The tabby tom let out a sigh and repositioned himself so he was more facing Applesong now, his mouth twisting into a half hearted smile. "WindClan has been uptight lately," He explained, not really caring if they told anyone or not. As far as he was concerned, WindClan owed RiverClan after the badger attack. What difference did it make now?
"I usually stay at camp, to talk to Lunerkit and Lightpaw, but things have been just soo--" The apprentice made a face that was half way between sarcasm and worry. "It makes it hard for me to be around everyone when they're so uptight like this.....so I come out here a lot." Brackenpaw thought for a moment, taking into consideration what they may be thinking. "It's also to keep an eye out...but mostly, just to get away from the tension."

Figuers... she though to herself. "RiverClan is getting over it... Kind of. We still think about Swiftst-" she cut herself off. Brackenpaw was from a different clan, she didn't want to tell him too much. She still wondered about Whitedawn. He had been occupying her mind for a while now. "I'm gonna go back to camp..." she said and made her way off.
To:: Camp Or Somewhere xD

Applesong watched as the she-cat started back to camp. "See you later, Sunstream." She mewed. She turned back to the tabby tom with emerald eyes and nodded her own head in agreement. "Yeah. I actually think I've been in camp too little..." She commented and blinked down at her wet paws. She didn't know half of what was going on in her own clan. She found it quite depressing, though she felt she had a reason to be out of the camp.
((Ekkk... I don't know what's going on. Lol))
