A sand-colored kit placed her paws upon the night-black pavement. There didn't seem to be any danger, so she paced forward, into unknown territory. She stared up at the odd...things in front of her. What they were didn't matter. All she was doing was traveling a bit beyond her home, perhaps find a new one even. Yet, she couldn't imagine leaving that place. It was her birthplace, and the place where she had lived with her mother...
This little kit was named Sand. Only recently had her mother been killed by fox in front of her eyes. Now she lived on her own. She had learned to hunt by watching her mother. She wasn't the best, but she was getting there.
The tiny loner pricked her ears at a strange, but familiar sound. It grew louder, louder...
She turned in the direction of the noise. The dark pools of her eyes grew in terror. Something big was coming towards her! It made more of racket then the one it was already making. Out of fear, the she-kit raced to the other side of the dark ground.
Whatever it was, it zipped right past her. I wonder if that thing could've killed me...maybe I would've been with mommy right now... she thought. She sat for a moment, gasping for air. As soon as she had caught her breath and regained her strength, she crept farther into the territory.

Nightbell yawned, then stretched out. Her muscles sore from her long nap. "Today seems like a good day for hunting", she meowed, nodding to herself. She ventured out of her two-legs den and jumped over the fence, passing the garden. She walked until she heard the nearby zooming of monsters. A small sand-colored kit had ventured onto the monster's path. Nightbell's eyes went wide for a moment. She flinched when she saw the kit almost get crushed by the monster then shook her head. The kit was on her side now, looking slightly dazed from what had just happened. The kit must not be from around here. I don't think the kit is a kittypet, either. Nightbell told herself. She slowly walked up to the young kit who was moving foward, she stopped to the young kit's side and meowed loudly. "Hey there, little one. What are you doing crossing the monster's path? And where is your mother?" The young kit seemed to be adventurous, just like she was. She sat down where she was, smiling. Her tail flicked back and forth in waiting, though Nightbell was hoping not to scare the young kitten.

Tiny blue irises stared up at a tall dark being of her kind. "Monsters path?", she questioned, obviously confused. Her gaze returned back to the spot she almost got killed, and the once again back to the other cat. "Oh, you mean that thing?" Sand used her tail-tip to point in the direction of the ebony-colored rock. "I was just looking around, I guess. I've never been out this far."
And here was the question of her mother.
Good question.
Where was her mother?
Dead, of course.
The she-cat glared up at the other. "My mother's dead. I guess I'd say she's up in the sky now, or something. She was killed by a fox not too long ago." Grief tickled at her whole pelt. Oh, how she missed her mother so! Why did this stupid stranger have to be so nosy? The fur on her back rose, with a challenging look on her eyes. It settled down quickly though.
For even if she knew some moves, tooth and claw might fail her because of her size. Size alone wasn't the problem though. It was age, and experience. Sand was still young. Perhaps the strongest among some kits - but not among full-grown cats.

"Monsters path?" The young kit questioned. "Oh, you mean that thing?" The kit's tail pointed toward the monster's path she was talking about, so Nightbell nodded. "I was just looking around, I guess. I've never been out this far." Nightbell gave the young kit a questioning glance. Well, that answers my question from before. Defenatly not a kittypet, she told herself. "My mother's dead. I guess I'd say she's up in the sky now, or something. She was killed by a fox not too long ago." The kit answered her seond question, sounding half sad and half angry. The kit gave her what looked like a chalegning look. Nightbell let out a murrow as a laugh because of the look. She smiled at the young kit, feeling sad about the poor kits mother. "I'm sorry about you mother, kit. But still, you shouldn't be venturing out onto the moster's path. It's not safe." Nightbell sounded slightly like a mother when she said this. "Anyways, what's your name? I don't want to have to call you 'kit' everytime I see you." She smiled.

"Don't laugh!" she snarled when the other cat let out a murrow of amusement. She narrowed her eyes. "My name's Sand...", she mewed suspiciously. "And you? What's your name?"
((OOC: Sorry for the short post, got to go to school ;-)

"Don't laugh!" The young kit meowed. "My name's Sand..." The young kit continued, "And you? What's your name?" Nightbell smiled at Sand. "Well. My name is Nightbell, though my owners call me Belle. And going to warn you right now. Never eat the food they lay out for us, it's nasty. Fresh kill is so much better." Nightbell let out a murrow of a laugh again. Then smiled at the young kitten. "Why are you wondering so far from your home, anyways?"

"Hi Nightbell," she mewed cautiously at the stranger. "Okay, I'll remember that." Sand wondered if tihs was a trick. What if this she-cat was lying to her? What if the food they left out really was good? She'd have to find out for herself.
"I wanted to go exploring. No point in staying home all the time...maybe I could find a new, better home? I don't know. I just wanted to come out here." The red kit stared at the strange land beyond the cat before her. There were strange, large things...there was simply no way to explain what they were. They were much bigger than her. Actually, they were much bigger than this Nightbell here! "Hey, um...what are those?" the kit asked, gesturing towards the colossal objects with her tiny tail. "They're really weird. Yet they look so cool in a way!"
Those weren't the only questions nagging her. "Owners? What are owners? And if your name is Nightbell, why do they call you Belle?" None of this made sense. Oh, there was so much world out there to explore! So many things to learn! All of this was new, in a new world...
((OOC: She's referring to houses xD))

"Hi Nightbell," the kit mewed cautiously. Then the young kit mewed, "Okay, I'll remember that." Must be referring to the nasty kitty-pet food, Nightbell told herself. "I wanted to go exploring. No point in staying home all the time...maybe I could find a new, better home? I don't know. I just wanted to come out here." Sand then started asking questions. "Hey, um...what are those?" Sand gestured to the two-leg nests behind them. "They're really weird. Yet they look so cool in a way!" Nightbell let out a small laugh to this comment. The questions kept coming. "Owners? What are owners? And if your name is Nightbell, why do they call you Belle?" Nightbell smiled at the young kit. "Slow down, Sand." She purred in amusement. "Your first question. Those giant things are called Two-leg nests. It's where they live, I sort of live in one too. Though I prefer the garden, I only go inside when it rains. And I avoid the food they put out. You can try some if you like, the just put some out not long ago. I don't recommend it though. And they call me Belle because they speak some weird language. They can't understand us and we can't understand them. And they are my owners because they raised me." Nightbell nodded.

Sand blushed slightly from embarrassment beneath her fur as Nightbell told her to slow down. Ack! The advantages of being overly curious.
Her golden eyes green large in shock. "They actually live in there?! Wow! But it's so big! Even I'm never had a den that big!" She started trying to imagine what was inside. Perhaps there were many brambles within to guard from enemies. Why not? It was a pretty advanced looking place. Maybe it also had secret lookouts to spy on other Twolegs from enemy territory.
"They raised you?! But what happened to your mommy?! Shouldn't she have raised you?" Sand started to wonder if this she-cat's mother was killed by a fox, too.
