"Duskfeather?" Pinefoot mewed softly, hoping she wasn't disturbing the she-cat. Peering inside, she saw an herb stock, a nest...then a bundle of fur. Hoping fervently that she wasn't asleep, she sat down and curled her tail over her paws, waiting to see if she would reply.

Duskfeather poked her head up and turnod around, her blue eyes curious and soemwhat alarmed. The medicine cat relaxed as she saw Pinefoot, letting her eyes only betray her curiousity. "You too?," She mewed, guessing what Pinefoot had come to ask her.
The patched she-cat let out a heavy sigh and slowly sat up, giving her pelt a few siwft licks. If Pinefoot can feel it, then so can Dreamstar, Duskfeather thought, slightly dissapointed. She had hoped that this was only a passing thing, but obviously it was more serious than she thought.

Noticing Duskfeather wasn't as happy as she could have been, Pinefoot was a bit apprehensive to say what she had come for. Hesitating a bit, she rather bluntly said "Dreamstar and I....well we've felt..something. We feel that something is going to happen in Riverclan, but we don't know what. Could you help?" Finishing rather quickly, she took a deep breath, and brought her tongue over her chest a few times. Kneading the ground with her paws, she awaited Duskfeather's response.

Duskfeather gave a ligh-hearted chuckle. "You can go ahead and speak!," She laughed. Silver dust flew off of Duskfeather's pelt as she shook her fur. "The feelings have been bothering me also," She sighed, blinking her blue eyes dissipointedly. "I haven't been able to get much sleep, even though we don't need it to begin with." Duskfeather shrugged and continued on. "I usually go down there and see how the clans are doing, even though none of them can see me. But lately, I can't seem to get to sleep."
The medicine cat shook her head, knowing it was mostly her fault for not being able to concentrate. "Something is keeping me awake, but I don't know what," She meowed. "I was trying to go to sleep again when you arrived, but not even the slightest thing happened!"

Puzzled, and a bit panicky, Pinefoot asked "Well if none of us can get to sleep, then how are we going to speak to them and warn them?" Noticing her voice rising, she fought to keep calm, knowing doing otherwise would not help. Scuffling her paws at the ground for lack of other things to do, she glanced up at the starry medicine cat, her eyes wide. "What are we going to do?" She whispered, choking out the hushed words. She anxiously awaited Duskfeather's response.

Duskfeather chuckled. "Calm down," She meowed, shaking her head. "It's probably nothing." She looked out the entrance of her den and sighed. Although it wasn't normal, it probably wasn't the best thing either. "Acutally, I think its only me...Dreamstar has been able to appear in dreams so I think it just may be me."

At her request, Pinefoot took several deep breaths, her eyes closed. When she opened them again, she mewed, reassured, "Do you think it's because you're more stressed than we are? I mean, you, as a medicine cat, I definitely don't blame you. But it still worries me..." Tucking her paws underneath her, she sat down, anxious to see what Duskfeather would say.

Duskfeather shugged. "I admit I have had a lot of things to do latly," Duskfeather admitted. "And I have been under some stress due to this...thing." The medicine cat gave a quirky grin to Pinefoot and sat up a little straighter. "So that may be it."

"Oh definitely." She mewed, glad the conversation was on a lighter note. "But could you just tell me, if you can, what you're sensing? Honestly, I just know something's wrong....but I can't put words to it. Can you?" The smell of herbs soothing her, she squinted her eyes to slits, just enough to see around the den.

Duskfeather shook her head. "I don't know the main sorce of it," She replied, her blue eyes clouded. "But I do know that its not comming for within the clan." The medicine cat looked out of the entrance and sighed inwardly. Its something more....[/i] She thought.

Dreamstar stepped into the medicine cat's den, her face glazed with curiousity. "We must head to the gathering," She meowed to Pinefoot and Duskfeather. "This maybe our chance to find out what the source of the our worries is." She didn't speak any further, but nodded her head to them. Then. with her eyes still glazed with curiousity, she bounded out of the den.

Duskfeather snapped back from her thoughts as her leader came in, signaling that they needed to get down to the gathering. The patched medicine cat looked over to Pinefoot and nodded, getting swiftly to her paws. She shoook her head and made her way out of the den, following Dreamstar.

Suddenly excited for the gathering, Pinefoot stood up, stretching her legs and yawning. As she stepped out of the den into the starry night, she could almost feel the intense silence engulf her. Shaking her head to clear it, she followed Duskfeather and Dreamstar, treading lightly. Twitching her whiskers thoughtfully, she pondered on Duskfeather's words. But I do know that its not coming from withing the clan... "What could it be then?" She mumbled to herself. Then, shaking herself out of it, she padded on, her mind clear and focused for the gathering.
