Lonehowl trudged into the den, his calico pelt patched with dust making him look like a brown cat with

black

fur. Lonehowl's icy blue eyes glazed the clearing for any sigh of releief. The prophechy had saw only made

him worry more about his clan. Lonehowl's claws scraped the ground. Slowly he trotted over to the den

and scented his herbs. Spiralpaw was coming along well. Lonehowl only hoped the best for his

apprentice. Lonehowl padded over to the pool and washed his paws into it's smooth rich water. The

he quickly cleaned his fur until it shined like the sun. Lonehowl could smell the rabbit that some apprentice

had left him. Slowly he grabbed it in his mouth and bit off a chunk. Lonehowl also discovered

that Foxpaw was half Thunderclan. His mother was a beautiful black warriorfrom Thunderclan named

Midnightrose. She was of Starclan now though. Lonehowl then thought of how Bushtail's kit's were. And

how she was.

Bushtail padded into the medicine cat den. Ever since Sorrelfur had died she had been sleepless and unhappy. Now she had no one to go to when she had troubles... well she only saw in every few nights but she atleast had somehting to look forward to. Now he was gone. Leaving her with her four kits. She sighed and sat down. "Hi Lonehowl." she said in a somewhat happier tone, but she was only tring to mask her sadness. It would be weird to some cats, no one knowing why her mood had changed. But now that she thought about it Lonehowl had been there ever since she had her kits. Even before that actually. Then she wondered why she had even come in to the medicine cats den, was it because she wanted to see Lonehowl? She didn't want to tell him that so she quickly made up an excuse. "I was wondering if I could possibly bring the kits in for a check-up." she trailed off as she ended her sentance. She looked to the side away from Lonehowl as she wrapped her tail around her feet.

Lonehowl heard the sweet musical voice of Bushtail. His icy blue eyes automatically turned to see the soft green eyes cat, Bushtail. "Hey,"Lonehowl hissed, confused of his reaction. No I love Midnightrose,Lonehowl hissed in his mind. I can't just love another cat after I just told Midnightrose that I loved her, can I? Lonehowl stared at the ground hoping she hadn't noticed his chnage in mood. But, it was to late. "Yeah the kit's can come in for a check up,"Lonehowl hissed. Lonehowl loved those kit's as if they were his own. He knew the path of a medicine cat had forbade his love for any. Lonehowl had also found out that the Starclan cat Midnightrose had amited her love for him. Lonehowl stared at Bushtail with a puzzled expression.

Bushtail kind of blushed. Was that love she saw in his eyes? No, it couldn't be he was a medicine cat. "Oh ok, yeah I'll bring them in... later." she said. Then she thought about her kits. Silverkit was in camp, Ashkit... probaly on some mad adventure, Nettlekit not really sure Ashkit had said she had gone missing, and well Nightkit was sad because she was slightly blind. She lied down. What was the point in chasing them anymore. They'de just do it again. Her face looked stressed she had four kits to take care of, and well no father. "Ughhh... they're such a handful." she said mainly to herself kind of forgetting that Lonehowl was there. Hoe could Sorrelfur abandon her like this?! She still loved him either way. But now that she thought about it Lonehowl was giving her almost the same feeling. Exept it felt wrong... more wrong. She couldn't love Lonehowl! He was a medicine cat. And forbidden love just leads to trouble. Toms abandon you, brake your heart. She wasn't ready for what she was feeling right now.

Lonehowl could feel the waves of confusion coming off of Bushtail. Slowly Lonehowl layed down beside jer pressing his calico pelt into her's. He could understand why she was so cinfused. Here he was trying to show that he liked her when he obviously still loved the poor kit's father. Lonehowl knew he couldn't ever be a father so, he tried by being like a father to the young ones in his camp, ecspecially Foxpaw, Nightkit, Ashkit, Nettlekit and Silverkit. "Bushtail have you ever thought that there might be a tom out there worth fighting for,"Lonehowl hissed. He wouldn't hurt Bushtail, never.

When Lonehowl laid next to her she felt almost as if she had no problems. Then she sighed. "There used to be." she mumbled loud enough for the medicine cat to hear. "Theres something I have to tell you." she said looking at him in the eyes. "You know my kits..." she said, "but you don't know their father. And unfortuanitly you never will." she said in sorrow then looked him in the eyes. "If you get what I mean." she said then looked away. She squinted in pain, Sorrelfur had left her.

"I'm sorry,"Lonehowl hissed lowly that only she could hear, hardly able to understand. Lonehowl's icy blue eyes tried but, fail to stray from her beauiful patterned pelt. His cold colored eyes only locked upon her silky brown texture. Slowly he sighed and starred at Bushtail. But, I love Midnightrose. Lonehowl couldn't help yell but, it only echoed aginast the black walls of his mind. He could only imagine a tom, lucky enough, to be the father of the young kit's. He must be either grey, black or white. Lonehowl layed his head on his paws and sighed once more.

"And I trust you wont tell anyone." she said sternly staring into his eyes. But she couldn't be mad at him, he'd helped her through everything. Then she say the look in his eyes and she felt torn. Thats the way Sorrelfur had looked at her. Then that was it, her heart broke. She couldn't do this, toms would just break her heart like Sorrelfur had done. Squinting she turned her head. "I can't do this." she said in frustration. It was wrong, her heart was leading her in the wrong direction. Then she stood up and ran out. Running through the camp entrance. "No!" she screamed into the forest. She just kept running and running.

She had seen it all, it was obvious now. He loved her. She loved him. It wasn't fair. Whenever something good happened, something bad had to happen. It was just the vicious cycle of life. Her eyes filled with tears, it just wasn't fair at all. I shouldn't be sad! But she was, it was wrong, but Midnightrose loved him. Why? A lone teardrop splashed on the ground near Lonehowl, and Midnightrose knew now she was revealed.

But she was dead, and Bushtail was alive. It wouldn't be right for the two if she acted like a sour loser. She appeared, right in front of Lonehowl. "Go after her." Midnightrose tried to keep her feelings out of her voice, but it didn't work. Betrayal and loss entered the tone of her voice and she winced.

Lonehowl stood up as a slight tear landed beside his sorrowful head. "I can't,"Lonehowl hissed. His heart whirled and his mind felt dizzy with laughing gas. "I just can't,"He repeated sorrowfully. His heart and soul where torn in two. How could he love someone else after he had just loved her. "I love you Midnightrose but, I love her two,"Lonehowl hissed in confusion. "I don't know what to do, Staclan help me,"Lonehowl wailed. He couldn't choose he wouldn't he loved and liked them both and he knew that Bushtail was right for him, her soul still walked with his. But, Midnightrose's still walked in his dreams. I wish there was an easier way, Lonehowl whispered.
