Cleaning Off

The medicine cat apprentice walked into camp and tworeds her den. When she reached it she took the moss off her paws and got some more moss. After soaking the moss in a little pool in her den she started cleaning off her paws. She looked up and around for Amberpaw the black and white apprentice had followed her back the whole way here. She should come in any second now. Better clean off my paws. I woulden't be able to look for her with black paws anyway.

Amberpaw sauntered into the entrance of the den, her topaz eyes filling with relief. Made it...and didn't fall down once. A job, which seemed to be impossible, well done. The black and white apprentice padded over to Bellpaw and narrowed her eyes in concern. "What are you going to do about the moss?," She asked, flicking her tail toward the moss. Luckily, Amberpaw's paws remained clean throughout the whole ordeal. If they had been contaminated...well, Amberpaw wouldn't have made it back without collapsing at least once.

Bellpaw looked at Amberpaw. "Not really sure, but I need to tell Sapphirestar about the black... stuff." she said looking at the black and white apprentice. "But you need to rest. I'll take care of the... stuff." she said pointing her tail to the bed where Amberpaw laid. "I'll refresh the moss in a moment if you want." she said to her trying to get the black stuff off her paws.

Amberpaw sighed and remained where she stood. "I'm not a kit you know," She countered, her voice slightly tinted with embarrassment. "I don't have to rest all day." She left out the fact that resting all day probably wouldn't be a problem. It was unnecessary to sleep all day as far as she was concerned. Rolling her eyes, the black and white apprentice turned her head toward the moss bed and slowly padding over to lay down. "And no," She replied, answering the second question. "The moss is fine. You concentrate on what you need to do." She laid her head down on her paws and looked up at Bellpaw with curious yet playful topaz eyes.

Bellpaw smiled at her friend. "Yeah I know." she said. She sat down and thought for a second. I should warn Sapphirestar. she looked up and thought again. "I'm missing something... "Amberpaw I have to go." she said. Walking outside of the den she saw half of a moon. How could she have forgotten?! She ran to the entrance and on her way to the moonpool.

Amberpaw nodded as Bellpaw ran out of the den. Slowly, she got to her paws and padded out of the den herself. After such a long morning, she could use a bite to eat.
