The elder let out a sigh. He began to groom his paw, and meowed between licks. "Will you make up one, then? Or tell me a story about you. What do you like to do with your friends?" He asked. Sandkit looked at him for a moment. A story from my life? She shook her head, it didn't make sense to her. Yet again, a lot of things the older cats did didn't make sense to her. Sandkit thought about things she had done with her friends. She had listened to elders stories of their past, played moss-ball, but nothing much other then that. Has he even heard of what moss-ball is? Sandkit thought. That will be what I will tell him about, she made up her mind. "Have you ever heard of a game called moss-ball?" She asked Snowcloud curiously.

[/i] The elder thought, hiding his amusement with a slight cough. Maybe it is, old tom, Snowcloud mused thoughtfully. But the game could have been tweaked for the new generation. He licked his lips and let out an affectionate mew. "Moss ball? That sounds fun, will you tell me about it?" He didn't want to lie to the kit completely, for he knew that they liked to be treated as adults were, so he blinked his amber eyes at Sandkit and then added, "I have heard of it, played it, actually. But that was when I was just a young kit like yourself. I don't remember it too clearly."It was true, after all. He wasn't all too keen on the game, and would probably falter while playing, making a fool out of himself.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

After Sandkit told the elder about moss ball, he let out a slight cough. She tilted her head at the sound then shook her head to clear her mind. "Moss ball? That sounds fun, will you tell me about it?" She nodded at Snowcloud, directly after he said this. "I have heard of it, played it, actually. But that was when I was just a young kit like yourself. I don't remember it too clearly." Sandkit nodded once again, ready to explain the current game, curious if it was still the same as when the elder was a kit.
Sandkit stood up, then decided to sit down to explain it. She curled her tiny tail over her small paws. "There are nets for each separate team. If there is an even number of cats," She explained. "Then they split up into teams of two cats. If there is an odd number of cats, then they each get there own net. Though its mostly an even number when we play." Sandkit was getting consumed in the explanation of moss ball, almost completely forgetting about the badgers outside of the den.
She continued. "After we split up into teams and get the nets, we usually decide between our team who guards the goal and who tried to get the moss ball and try to score a goal on the other teams. Every score is kept like pieces of prey. Mouse is the first score. Vole is the second score. Sparrow is the third score. And Rabbit is the fourth score. Which ever team gets rabbit first wins!" Sandkit's eyes were excited as she remembered when she had played less then half a moon ago with the other kits in the nursery. She smiled at the memory.

Flamestar quickly jumped up when he had the chance. he quickly pouced up on of the badgers and clawed it furiously until he ran away screaming. Flamestar looked around camp quickly making sure no onewas seriously hurt.

Silkheart looked around the clearing when she had a chance. The Clan was getting pumbled. Silkheart spotted her leader, Flamestar. She ran over to him and said, "Ready?" She looked around the clearing. There were tons of badgers everywhere.

[/i] changed! He purred and stroked the kit's back with his thin white tail. "My dear, that sounds fun." He meowed hoarsely. "It wasn't that complicated when I was a wee kit. But it sounds much more interesting to play now."[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul] ((Arg. . . stupid short post. . . I was rushed.))

Flamestar smiled without humor. He looked at his deputy Silkheart and meowed ''Im ready'' he looked around the clearing where the badgers and Thunderclanners were battling ''Is the clan?'' he asked without looking at her.

Lightwhisper rolled over onto her stomach and stood back up. She crouched down and glared at the badger in front of her. "Stay away from WindClan!" she hissed through gritted teeth. Her hindpaw throbbed terribly from where she had landed on it, but she ignored the pain and sprang at the badger again. [/size]

"My dear, that sounds fun." The elder told Sandkit. "It wasn't that complicated when I was a wee kit. But it sounds much more interesting to play now." This statement mad Sandkit think about it. I wonder what it was like before, she thought. Her eye's shone bright with interest as she looked at Snowcloud once more. "What was it like before?" She asked, excitement seeping into her voice. The danger outside, long forgotten.

Finally, Brackenpaw could hold on no longer. So when the badger reared up on his back legs again, the apprentice took that opportunity and clawed his was off the creatures back. He looked over at Flamestar to make sure the leader was okay, but Silkheart had found him first. He's going to be okay then, I'm guessing. With a small grunt, he turned back to the badger to get ready for his next attack.
When the cat had finally fallen off it's back, the badger swung it's head around the find it. When it's black eyes finally spotted the small figure, it raised it's paw and lashed out, anger welling up inside it. Brackenpaw barely had enough time to duck out of the way as a huge black paw came hurtling toward him. When the paw hit the ground with a low thud, Brackenpaw reared up and lashed out with his claws at the creature's face.

Silkheart looked at Flamestar. "I sure hope so." Silkheart looked back at the Clan. They were all fighting. "Should we get help?" Silkheart said to Flamestar without looking at him. The Clan was getting battered like a leaf in the wind. She hated it.

''Yes, I guess...'' he sighed. ''Maybe we could ask ThunderClan, they are usually helpful'' the leader looked around quickly ''We could ask Brackenpaw to goand ask them'' he meowed ''Brackenpaw'' he called the apprentice over.

Silkheart looked around looking for another cat to take Brackenpaw's place in asking ThunderClan for help. She was pinpointing the apprentices.

The badger before Lightwhisper reared up on it's hindlegs as the molted she-cat leaped at it. Sending out a yowl of terror, Lightwhisper did her best to scramble out of the way before the massive badger brought its forepaws down ontop of her. Only her tail was still in the aim of fire as the badger's paws came down. Hissing to keep herself from howling in pain, Lightwhisper dug her claws into the ground and tore her tail free of the badger's grasp. [/size]

[/b] The tom questioned lightly, his words flowing easily, despite his broken back and loss of blood. He thought about it for a while, going back into the days he used to play with his sister and all of the other kits in the nursery. It had been a good season back in his kithood, and the nursery held four healthy and large litters--they'd even had to expand it. "Well. . . moss ball used to be much simpler. The apprentices--the younger ones, mind you--would sometimes join as well." He paused, closing his amber eyes and taking a moment to rest his headache before going on. "A lot of the time we just rolled the moss balls around and passed them to each other, but once we invented this game where we had to start at one end of camp and push the moss ball all the way over to the nursery, but we could only use our tails. But that game ended when everyone complained that we were making to much of a ruckus and." He laughed at the memory, and then another one popped into his mind. "Ah, once when we were almost apprentices, but still kits--except for Dawnpaw, who had become a medicine cat apprentice, we made this big thing. It had two tall sticks about a cat-length apart from each other, and then a spiderweb woven between the two, like a huge rectangle. Then we had two teams and we had to throw the moss ball back and forth over it. Who ever got the moss ball stuck in the spider web or dropped it on the ground was out, and it went on until only one cat was left. Then they were the winner." He ended his story smiling, happy to give the kit some more game ideas. Then he added, "Maybe you should try that sometime, but remember not to bug the medicine cats about the spider web, because they use it for medicine. You have to gather your own."[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul] ((Wowza, long post.))
