Waiting to go

Peachpelt padded over to the camp entrance, and sat down. Her tail flicked with impatience, she was eager to go on a patrol with the others. The ginger she-cat had wanted to do something usefull all morning and now she could. Sapphirestar, Autumnpaw and Amberpaw should be coming on the patrol too, I think... Peachpelt thought, looking around for them.

Jaws widened in a friendly smile, and a tail was curled in delight. Sirensong dipped her head to her good friend, but also deputy, and opened her mouth to speak. And panting, she meowed;

"Hello Peachpelt. I'm going to be joining you. Would that be okay?" Sirensong hated intruding, and if she was to be going on patrol because she forced her friend into it, then she didn't want to be going at all. Sitting down, she drew a small silver paw over her ear after licking it thoroughly, then focused her beautiful deep blue eyes on Peachpelt's ginger and peach-colored pelt. [/blockquote]

Peachpelt turned as the scent of her friend, Sirensong, reached her. "Hello Sirensong!" she mewed, happy to see her friend. "And yes, of course it's fine!" she continued, eyes lighting up with joy. The peachy colored deputy smiled at her friend "We will be leaving as soon as the others get here," she told Sirensong.

Sirensong smiled, and blinked at her long time friend. "Great!" The gray tabby warrior exclaimed excitedly. So, it was Amberpaw, Peachpelt herself and .. who? Well, it didn't matter. Three was enough, four was better. She flicked her ears toward the warriors den, where Ambepraw was sitting, and where Sirensong had just been.

A black and white apprentice padded up to the group of cats, her topaz eyes excited. She paused when she reached them, noticing someone was missing. "Where's Sapphirestar?," She asked, turning her gaze onto Peachpelt. Wasn't her mentor just here a couple seconds ago? Amberpaw sighed and sat down, curling her tail in inpatients. Sapphirestar always had a way of disappearing on her. The apprentice smiled, shaking her head slightly. She'll be here when she's ready. Amberpaw resorted, her topaz eye flickering around the camp for any sign of the ThunderClan leader.

[Peachpelt]

Peachpelt purred happily at Sirensong. The ginger pelted deputy's ears twitched and she turned to look at Amberpaw as she appeared, "Ah hello Amberpaw. You are joining us aren't yoo?" she mewed, smiling warmly at the apprentice. "Now we are just waiting on Saphhirestar..."

[Sapphirestar]

Sapphirestar padded to, or more appeared beside, Amberpaw. Her eyes flicked uncertainly at the assembled cats. There are too many for a patrol... and we need to keep fresh warriors for a hunting patrol, she thought. Well, at least that could be arranged.
"I think that this dawn patrol is a little... big. Maybe the other Clans would take it as an offense..." the leader frowned slightly. The sun was almost peeking over the edge of the trees... "We need a hunting patrol. I suggest that we split up: two cats on a hunting patrol, three on a dawn patrol. What do you say?" she turned her sapphire gaze to Peachpelt. Maybe a mentor and her apprentice on one patrol, and ther rest on the dawn patrol?

Sirensong lifted her head, and sniffed the air. Sapphirestar was approaching, the gray tabby dipped her head just as she appeared. Immediately she felt the urge to get out and run. Three cats on the dawn patrol? Sirensong echoed in her mind. If anything she wanted to be the third. Blue eyes flashed and the gray tabby jumped to her paws. "I'll go on the dawn patrol, Sapphirestar!" Sirensong announced.

[Amberpaw]

Amberpaw smiled up at Sapphirestar, happy that her mentor finally decided to show herself. "I would like to go on the hunting patrol..." The apprentice mewed, her topaz eyes darting back up to the oak tree where the Robin sat, still taunting her with his mocking crys. You will be mine robin... She thought, a low growl escaping her jaws. She wanted nothing more then to sink her claws into his feathery body, to finally silence his mocking crys...Amberpaw's tail twitched frevrently as her eyes locked on the robin, something she usually did when she was deep in thought.

[Lionflame]

Lionflame stepped out of the warrior's den, yawning, and paused to stretch lazily. Dawn was getting old... already a ray of sunlight was piercing trhough the thick treeline outside of the hollow. The golden tom caught sight of the group of cats at the entrance of the camp and trotted to them, hoping to make himself useful. As he approached, it appeared that the cats were still discussing who to send on which patrol. Lionflame dipped his head at both Peachpelt and Sapphirestar, and surveyed the assembled cats. After some thought, he came to a decision.
"May I join the dawn patrol?" he asked, his tail twitching. If he joined, than it would be three on each patrol, and would be easier to split up. He needed the exercise, anyway.

[Sapphirestar]

Sapphirestar acknowledged the approaching golden warrior, while doing some math in her head. "Well, if Sirensong, Peachpelt and Autumnpaw go on the dawn patrol... and Amberpaw and I go on the hunting patrol... then again..." Agh, we need another cat! she thought. At that moment, a calm, rich voice came to her ears, and she turned her sapphire gaze to the newcomer. "Ah! Lionflame, you come just in time... You'll go on the dawn patrol." Lionflame was simple - not stupid, he was quite intelligent, in fact, but just uncomplicated - and so direct orders always worked better on him. A thought suddenly hit her. Strange... but Lionflame is the only tom in the group! that constatation almost made her chuckle, but she manadged to keep her amusement inside.


[[sorry for stealing your role, Peach, and for the mix up, Siren. This dawn patrol actually does make part of the Cherrysky plot, and so it is preferable that the Lionflame and Sirensong be on the same patrol xD ]]

Sirensong's ears pricked at the sound of shuffling bracken, and her silver head turned towards the sound. Lionflame was coming out of the warriors den, his large frame held proudly, the gray tabby flicked her tail in greeting, but said nothing. Even thought dawn had passed a while ago, they still had to keep up, they would have to check their borders and then be back so that the sun high patrol could go quickly. "Could we start with the ThunderClan border, Sapphirestar?" There hadn't been a patrol there since sun high the previous day, and the scent marks had to be renewed.

Peachpelt sighed, a little patrol had turned into a clan meeting! The ginger warrior looked at Saphirestar, "I don't mind what I have to do, Sapphirestar," she mewed, her tail flicking with impatience.

[Sapphirestar]

"Right, then. Peachpelt, Lionflame, Sirensong, you will be on the dawn patrol. I'll take these two on a hunting patrol," Sapphirestar's stare flicked to Autumnpaw and Amberpaw. "Is it all go?" her sapphire gaze swept expectanly over the small assembly. Her paws were itching to be off, and the sky was already alight.


Lionflame dipped his head and came closer to Sirensong. What a haymay! We're missing dawn... he thought, shaking his golden head. "Shall we go, then?" he looked at Peachpelt, his tail twitching absent-mindedly. He didn't exactly understand why it was taking so long, but he suspected that Sapphirestar had higher reasons for carefully pairing the patrols.

[Peachpelt]

Peachpelt nodded, "Yep it's all go!" she meowed confidently. "And yes, we will leave right away!" she mewed. "Bye Sapphirestar!" she told her leader, bowing her head, before padding out of camp.
